White rabbit, white rabbit, white rabbit, white rabbit!!!
So as well as being the first day of yet another new month, today marks the first day of meteorological autumn - that means it's time for us to start thinking about new menu items more suited to the likely change in weather conditions and the availability of seasonal produce.
On top of that we're excited to tell you that we've got a few new faces that will soon be joining the team to ease the burden on Sara, Christine & crew who have worked so tirelessly while Jerry was otherwise engaged!
Make sure you follow this page to keep abreast of events coming up very soon such as Bingo sessions, the Big Quiz, and our budget busting Lunch for Locals, Curry Club, Mid week Roasts etc etc.

It's the final bank holiday before Christmas so we thought we'd try and tempt a few of you out with a traditional roast & three veg at a great price on this otherwise rather damp and grey Monday! Let's make the most of it!

Good afternoon/evening all. Happy to report that I'm now back at home at the Hand Inn, though I'll be keeping a bit of a low profile for a little while yet while I try and get a little bit more recovered so we can hopefully enjoy a return to our Friday afternoon Bingo session this week, as it's the start of the final bank holiday weekend until Christmas! I am so appreciative of all the messages, texts and even phone calls - thank you all so much.
Please keep a close eye on this page as we'll be devising a few one-off special events to take place over the weekend to utilise the budget we'd set aside before my unexpected absence. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome too.

I may still be hospitalised but those who know me, will know that I will always believe that the show must go on!
And that includes our special £5 lunch for locals offer served 12:30 to 2:30 Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays (last food orders 2:15). This Monday it’s a choice of Roast Beef or Pork with a Yorkshire Pudding, Boiled New Potatoes, Carrots, Peas and lashings of Piping hot Gravy. At just a fiver you couldn’t make it at home for that!! Of course, the rest of our lunchtime menu is also available so it really is the perfect opportunity for a catch-up with family or friends without breaking the bank … or even putting a small dent in it!

UPDATE BY JERRY: Still in hospital and have been told that it’s likely I will be here for the weekend. Want to take this opportunity to thank everybody for their patience and understanding while I’ve not been too good, with special thanks to my partner Christine, as well as Sara and the rest of the regular Hand crew.
I don’t really want to go into the details, but suffice to say things turned out to be completely different to what I’d been expecting and coming here when I did may well have saved my life. Unfortunately it means I won’t be able to organise Bingo tomorrow afternoon but will see you all very soon. Thanks all.

Oh . . . and if you fancy a pint to wash it down, Fosters lager is still on offer at just £2.95 a pint throughout Mondays to Thursdays.
