We often welcome work experience teenagers here and I think now, more than ever, that our young people need all the support that they can get.
One of our teenagers here is Jack. I answered an online post asking for employers to provide 20 hours a week for four weeks as part of a ‘Work Ready’ Programme run by KCC.
Jack joined us and, although nervous and anxious about making mistakes, he learned how to be a waiter. He then did some time in our large and busy kitchen.
He was amazing !
He is now part of our team - Congratulations Jack - it’s a pleasure to have you here !
He is now looking to go to college to train to be a chef.
There are some great young people out there just waiting for an opportunity and the right encouragement. It can be a life changing experience for them. Let’s all do our bit.

One of our waiters is a classically trained pianist.. (and manages to make cappuccinos at the same time 😬)
We are really proud to host him here at Wellington’s ..

Joe kindly performed beautiful Debussy, Rachmaninov, Ravel and Chopin pieces which moved the attendees at our recent fundraiser at New - The Astor Community Theatre for and you are in for a treat if you buy tickets for this event!

We’ve had a little bit of a makeover here at Wellington’s to make us presentable for the summer !
Taking off some of the 3mm ply and pulling out the expanding foam revealed the lovely black tiles that existed back in the days of horse and carts !
The cafe was a dairy back then .
Come and sea 🌊
