We’ve been cooking up something a little different, and we’re very excited to share our Harvest & Vine Evening with you. 🍇

Join us on Thursday 15th October from 6.30pm, when Head Chef Greig will be serving a five-course menu inspired by the season.

Each course has been carefully paired with a w**e selected by Tony Farrow from local w**e merchant Page & Sons, who’ll be joining us for the evening to talk us through the w**es and offer an insight into the pairings.

Our Head Chef Greig has been busy putting together his first Christmas menu at 81, and we can finally share it with you.

There are all the usual Christmas favourites, plus a few dishes that are very much Greig’s own.

The festive menu will be available from 21st November to 30th December, and bookings are now officially open. So if the Christmas group chat has already started, you can now get a date at 81 in the diary.

Glazed with chilli and tamarind, with tangy pickled red cabbage and cooling mint yoghurt on the side. Crispy, sticky, sharp, fresh – it’s a very good combination indeed.

With GCSE, A-level and college results landing over the past couple of weeks, we’re sending a big BSR-wide shout-out to all the younger members of our teams 💙

Not because of the grades on a piece of paper, but because alongside school, college, exams, revision and everything else that comes with it, you turn up for shifts, look after our customers, support your teammates and bring so much to our pubs and restaurants.

An appreciation post for our brilliant Sam, taken from a recent customer review 💙

“We were in Deal on holiday and ate here twice. Our first visit was brilliant...We enjoyed our meal so much, we decided to visit again on our last night.

A BIG shout-out to Sam, who attended our table throughout. My husband once again had a steak and once again it was cooked to perfection, and I had the mouth-watering mussels. We couldn’t have asked for better and it was an amazing way to round off our lovely holiday.”
