Being real with you guys, these last few weeks have been busyyyy and wonderful and exhausting and amazing and EXHAUSTING and incredible!!! 😂

We’ve always been responsive on socials because you guys are so important to us and we love that we have this connection with you. It’s special, and means the absolute world ✨
However, just for now while we balance our time and energy between being fully engaged while in work and fully present while at home with our families we’re still going to be keeping you updated on our socials but unfortunately won’t be as responsive in comments/direct messages.
~ sometimes we see messages when we’re busy and totally forget to reply
~ sometimes messages get lost in a sea of messages
~ sometimes the enquiry would be answered quicker by calling the shop…
And we feel so much panic and guilt that we’ve left you hanging! So this temporary measure is to help us manage your enquiries better so you guys know what to expect from us and don’t ever feel ignored/let down/disregarded ♥️

Answers to some FAQs..
🕚 Our open hours are published EVERYWHERE and in our auto response message (and will be changing next week to 11~7 Monday~Thursday 🙌🏽)

🍦 Flavours available can be viewed online Friday~Sunday when our online store is live for local deliveries 📲goodeats.io/localscoop
This is harder to keep updated during the week due to flavours selling out and the team being too busy to find time to update the system which can cause disappointment/extra work making phone calls etc so it’s best to just pop in and see what we have in the cabinet Monday~Thursday🫶🏽

🐛 Coolio Caterpillar Cakes can be ordered online via our website ~ www.thelocalscoop.co.uk
All flavours and toppings are listed for you to personalise your very own Celebration cake.
Order by midnight Monday to collect from Friday (we need a minimum 5 days notice to schedule into production) 🍦

He serves 10-12, needs to be stored in the freezer and if he doesn’t get eaten all at once will keep well in a sealed container for up to 4 weeks.

🚒👩‍🚒🍦When one of our fave customers asked his Mum if he can buy icecream for the fire fighters.. (we shouldn’t have favourites but Dustin has been Scoop’s No.1 supporter since he was born so that’s pretty hard to compete with!)

The fire crew were busy on a job at the time and we had already noticed the fire engines passing through town and hearing their sirens alot more frequently recently. While we’re all finding working in this heat a struggle at times we’ve been thinking about all the emergency service responders dealing with increased work load in the heat wave and still needing to wear their uniforms and protective gear and we agreed the fire crew definitely deserved a scoop treat 🍦

We planned to surprise our Dawlish Fire Fighters on their drill night (Dustin and Maeve were very excited) but when we arrived they were out on a call, Dustin’s Mum showed us around the Ambulance Station and we hung around a little while when we heard they were on their way back. Dustin was especially thrilled to greet the fire crew back from their job with their icecream so it felt extra special treating our local hero’s ✨ we see you and we appreciate all of you!! 👩‍🚒🚒👩‍⚕️🚑👮‍♂️🚓

🍦☀️ It’s always summer at the Scoop ☀️🍦
We’re pretty used to working in a toasty climate all year round in our cosy little corner shop with a glass front and all afternoon and evening sunshine 🫠 but this UK heatwave has been pretty extreme 🔥

📣🧇❌ We’ve made the decision for the benefit of the team working hard in the shop all day, to keep the waffle irons off when the temperature spikes in the shop.
Don’t worry though, we have so many delicious dessert alternatives you won’t be missing out, maybe use this opportunity to try something new from the menu🍦🥤🍨🍫🍪🍓
