We’ve been told our steak tartare is pretty special. One guest even reckoned it was the best they’d had since leaving Hungary. High praise. We’ll take it.

Tom Bainbridge isn’t one to hold back on flavour & this plate packs a punch. It starts with offcuts from our whole rumps of heritage beef, then Tom Bainbridge gets cheffy: a generous hit of spice, proper seasoning & a sharp, punchy acidity from capers & gherkins. It’s bold & has that savoury hit you want.

And because one way is never quite enough, there are two takes on the dish. Our à la carte version comes with Marmite butter toast & on the set menu, it’s all about those chip sticks.

Two ways to eat it. One seriously good tartare.

Cornish gurnard, potato rosti, curried sweetcorn & scallop roe velouté .

We’ve always loved the pairing of fish with a curry sauce – who remembers our monkfish, onion rings & curry sauce?

This specific dish centres around Gurnard from Cornish day boats Flying Fish Seafoods & pairs it with a mild curry sauce of a sweetcorn & scallop roe base. Finished off with a tomato salsa to cut through the rich creamy sauce. Delicious!

Tom Bainbridge has gone all out on this weekend’s special “The Billingsgate Sandwich”. Classically a scallop & bacon roll but ours really takes it up a notch.

Bite into ch*****ne onions, bacon, fillet steak, seared scallops & béarnaise sauce & dip 72 aged parmesan covered fries into an indulgent truffle aioli. Anyone else’s mouth-watering?
