It is with great Sadness that we announce the passing of Andy Pascoe. As we were unable to attend his funeral , there will be a small rememberance service at the Former Cafe Hub Thursday 19th Sept 11am.
Andy was an integral part of the Cafe Hub project, and I personally do not feel that we could have done it without him. He was there with me every step of the way. From the lunches at Evolve, to the catering business, to the neighborhood bus and canal clean ups. To the launch and running of the Cafe itself. He created the most delicious dishes, and everything that he decided to engage in was completed to the highest standard. Together we worked tirelessly, often voluntarily, to get the project moving.
He was one of the kindest, souls that I have ever met, and I thankyou from the bottom of my heart for all that you taught me.
I pray that you have found some peace sweetman. And may the angels enjoy your lemon drizzle cake 🍰♥️(but maybe not you're taste in music 🤦😝). With greatest of love and respect Mel ###xx

Does any one have any warm clothing, hats, scarves, gloves, blankets, sleeping bags etc that they would be prepared to donate, we are planning to do this in Blackburn next week. Homelessness needs political solutions. But as temperatures plummet, communities are also finding a new way to both immediately practically help, and connect with, homeless people.

Last night the cafe was broken into. The thieves only got away with a small amount of cash, but caused some damage in order to gain access.

It's saddening to think that an organisation of this kind, that makes no profit, and only serves to support people, would be subject to such cruel behaviour.

Oh well onwards ans upwards, we will be open tomorrow :)
