Congratulations to Madi Williams and Jordan Bartholomew, both through to the semi-finals of South West Chef of the Year 2026! 🧑‍🍳👩‍🍳

The pair work together at Stoke Lodge Hotel in the Wildflower kitchen, and both have ties to South Devon College. Madi is currently training with us as a Chef Apprentice and is competing for South West Student/Apprentice Chef of the Year. Jordan, now Head Chef at Stoke Lodge, previously studied on our chef programme and is competing for South West Professional Chef of the Year.

Two brilliant results for our catering courses, and proof of the talent coming through South Devon kitchens. Good luck to Madi and Jordan in the semi-finals, less than two weeks away!

We’re incredibly proud to share some very exciting news from Stoke Lodge Hotel and the Wildflower kitchen…

Both Jordan and Madi have made it through to the semi-finals of South West Chef of the Year 2026!

👨‍🍳 Jordan Bartholomew, our Head Chef, is competing for South West Professional Chef of the Year, while Madi Williams, our Chef Apprentice, is competing for South West Student/Apprentice Chef of the Year.

To have not one, but two members of our kitchen team competing at this level is a fantastic achievement, and we’re delighted to see their talent, creativity and hard work recognised alongside other talented chefs from across the South West.

A huge congratulations to you both — and good luck for the semi-finals! 👏 Less than two weeks to go!

What a summer it’s been at Stoke Lodge Hotel ☀️

From busy days at the hotel to celebrations, private events and some very special moments along the way, we’ve loved seeing this corner of South Devon at its very best.

This beautiful view from Little Dartmouth, with Stoke Fleming in the distance, was captured during one of the private events we were involved with this summer — a pretty spectacular backdrop, and a reminder of just how lucky we are to call this coastline home.

Thank you to everyone who stayed, dined, celebrated and spent part of their summer with us. Here’s to the next season at Stoke Lodge.

It's a reminder that sometimes the best part of a getaway isn't rushing off to the next thing—it's simply taking a moment to pause, breathe and enjoy the view.

Sometimes, the best plans involve doing very little at all. 💙
