WHAT’S ON AT THE SAIL LOFT THIS WEEK

The Sail Loft is the perfect place to gather with family & friends to celebrate the summer, & what a summer it’s been so far! Our delicious food is made for sharing, & this week is no exception. Freya will be busy in the kitchen all week baking, prepping & perfecting her dishes, all homemade & all seriously good value. It’s the kind of food that’s made for putting in the middle of the table & fighting over.

Food is served every night (nb we are closed on Sundays) & you can book a table between 5pm & 8pm on our website, which is highly recommended if you don’t want to miss out. sailloftdartmouth.co.uk. And don’t forget, we’re open from midday on Saturday with our fabulous, ever-popular lunch menu. Last week’s bestseller from our food menu were our halloumi fries, & our bestselling drink was Jubel beer, clearly you all know exactly what summer’s about.

Join us for something really special as we welcome back Schofield, one of our favourite bands! This brilliant local Devon duo bring upbeat, feel-good dance-pop using bass, guitar & keyboard with looping beats, performing original music alongside much-loved hits from artists like Prince, Chic, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Bee Gees, The Weeknd & Daft Punk. Expect infectious grooves, great energy & a lively atmosphere in our warm, stylish & welcoming space, with drinks flowing, & our friendly team ready to look after you. Bring your family & friends & make it a Friday to remember.

Say hello to Amy, our brilliant Bar & Events Manager, who’s always busy behind the scenes as well as behind the bar. This week she’s deep in finalising the Regatta rota, a proper mammoth task, & one she’s smashing as always! Not long now till all the fun of The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta begins, & we are THERE for it!

Friday 14th August - LIVE MUSIC WITH MILO GRIFFITHS - 7PM
Young talent Milo Griffiths returns to The Sail Loft! A gifted singer-songwriter from South Devon, Milo will be playing acoustic original music alongside beautifully reshaped covers of classic songs. An evening not to be missed.

Saturday 15th August - CHILLED DJ SESSION - 5PM TO 8PM
It’s back, & this time with two DJs on the decks in our Sunny Courtyard! DJ Karismatic & DJ Show Pony will be bring the sounds & all the feels to the courtyard. Karis was born on the grounds of Totnes Castle in 1991 & forged in the crucible of acid rave, cutting his teeth in Plymouth’s dubstep scene & on community radio at Soundart before disco & funk pulled him in during a stint in Brighton. Now back on home turf in Dartmouth, he curates live events & radio under his Field Work platform. Alongside him, DJ Show Pony will be serving up a selection of Electro Pop goodness! So grab a table in the sun, order something cold, & let the music do the rest.

Last week’s bestsellers were the Korean Chicken & Aperol Spritz, we reckon that’s the taste of summer right there. So come on by & try them for yourself.

This Saturday just got a whole lot sunnier…

DJ KARISMATIC is spinning vinyl in our courtyard from 5-8pm, warm, eclectic, timeless music for anyone who appreciates the good stuff.

Born on the grounds of Totnes Castle in 1991, forged in the crucible of acid rave, Karis cut his teeth in Plymouth’s Bretonside bus station dubstep scene and on community radio at Soundart in Dartington. A stint in Brighton’s record shops and seafront nightlife pulled him deeper into disco and funk, one foot in the past, one foot in real-world investigation. These days he’s back on home turf in Dartmouth, curating live events and radio under his Field Work platform.

Grab a table in the sun, order something cold, and let the vinyl do the rest.

Big news, it’s August, which means we’re now open 6 days a week, serving Freya’s fabulous food 6 nights a week too!

We’re open from 3pm daily, & from midday on Saturdays, when we start food service with our lunch menu.

At just 20, Swiss-born Bella has lived a life shaped by an extraordinary childhood across Sudan, Myanmar & Turkey, & it shows in her witty, emotionally rich songwriting & soulful, Amy Winehouse-esque stage presence. With label interest & a management deal already in place, she’s very much one to watch. Joined by guitarist James Davies, expect a night of real talent & charisma right here at The Sail Loft. Open from 3pm. Buy 2 of our summer pizzas (exc Margherita) & get a Greek Salad FREE, or buy 2 sliders & get a portion of Salted Fries FREE. These are the last mid-week offers for a while, so get them while you can!

Thurs 30th July — Thirsty Thursday
Open from 3pm, Staropramen just £5 a pint. Hot food from 5pm.

Fri 31st July — Live Music with Emily Seear
Open from 3pm. Then South Devon songstress EMILY SEEAR joins us at 7pm bringing her warm vocals & stripped-back guitar for a night of mellow covers & uplifting sing-along favourites, the perfect way to sail into the weekend. Expect gentle, feel-good tunes alongside upbeat classics, all with a drink in hand.

Sat 1st August — All Day Feasting
Open from midday with our delicious toastie, pizza & sides lunch menu, straight through into our evening menu. Simply delicious… perfect for sharing with family & friends.

BIG NEWS… we’ll be open 6 days a week throughout August, so from next week we’re open Mondays too!

The feedback this week has been amazing, & it’s fair to say a few dishes have properly stolen the show, our beef brisket sliders, Korean chicken & halloumi fries were all bestsellers last week. Get in quick before they sell out again!

And with the sun still very much shining, our Greek & Caesar salads are the perfect go-to this week, fresh, light, & so tasty.

WHAT’S ON AT THE SAIL LOFT THIS WEEK

Looks like it’s another glorious week of sunshine ahead, & honestly we couldn’t be happier to welcome you join us for it. Drinks are always a good idea, but this week we’re putting the food front & centre too, because Freya’s kitchen is turning out some seriously good stuff right now.

Doors reopen 3pm Tuesday , think hot & cold drinks & Freya’s delicious bakes from 3-5pm, before the evening menu kicks in from 5pm (kids’ basket menu available too, so bring the whole crew).

If you’ve eaten at The Sail Loft recently, you’ve got Freya Bradley to thank. Dartmouth born and bred, Freya’s been passionate about cooking since she was a child, & these days she runs our kitchen with a philosophy that’s refreshingly simple: fresh ingredients, cooked well & priced so you don’t need a special occasion to justify it.

The result is a proper casual, social dining menu that works perfectly for dinner with friends, or something to accompany a drink or two, or three! Pizzas, Sliders, sharing plates, halloumi fries, burrata, Paddon peppers, crispy Korean chicken, all the things that taste better when they’re in the middle of the table and everyone’s got a fork in. Pair it with something from our fabulous drinks menu & honestly, what’s not to love?

So next time you’re thinking “just drinks,” do yourself a favour and stay for food too. Freya’s cooking deserves the attention! Come and taste what Freya’s been quietly perfecting. You’re welcome!
