There's been lots of rumours around the village recently so I thought I'd let everyone know.
Hurworth Fisheries will be closing. The landlord has big ideas for the building but sadly it doesn't include a chip shop.
JUST TO CLARIFY.... we're NOT being kicked out, we came to a mutual agreement.
No final date just yet but never fear the food and service will be a good as ever until the end. Please continue to support us while we're still here.

From today, 1st October 2023, by law takeaways cannot use polystyrene boxes or tubs for packaging or supply plastic forks.
Going forward, Hurworth Fisheries will be mainly wrapping in paper (like in the good old days) with cardboard boxes for certain items.
We will also be using traditional small wooden 'chippy' forks.
Due to the increased price of the tubs that we are allowed to use for sauces, we will only be offering 1 size of peas, curry, gravy, chilli, garlic mayo etc.
Please bring your own carrier bags where possible.
We ask you to be patient with us while we get our heads around all the new regulations.
