It’s all about Tulips right now - the first big hitters of the year and the flower we probably miss growing the most; maybe because it was the first flower to come up each year so when you saw your tulips you knew that the flower farming year was away and that somehow everything was going to be ok.
By tulips we are not talking about the tight-lipped little packs that you get in the supermarket, the ones we love are the big British grown, flamboyant, blowsy queens who open and close their rich petals through the day showing off their glory.
Tulips are one of the only flowers that are just as beautiful when dying as they are when first picked. Those last few days of faded glamour just before the petals drop are some of the tulips most magnificent. So please don’t throw your tulips away until you’ve made absolutley sure that you’ve enjoyed every last minute of the beauties!
P.s Did you know that Tulips carry on growing up to 2inches in the vase after being cut ✂️?!
