What a week!
Sweltering temperatures in the kitchen. Baby Seagull rescue. Ran out of buttermilk chicken, bacon (unheard of) and ciabattas!
But we got through it as we always do. Well done to the whole team, even Lanch made a return.
“Boi” as he is affectionately called fell victim to the high temperatures. They nest on the rooftops in town and he’s fallen down before he can fly. We’ve taken advice from experts and we’re going to look after him for a week when hopefully he’ll be ready to fly and we’ll put him on a rooftop to live hopefully a long life. Before we have an seagull hate - there’s only so many in town because we’ve eaten all their fish from the sea and we’re so messy as a species!
Would you believe our resident nesting pigeons eggs also hatched yesterday - they’ve been trying for months but their eggs have either been taken or something had gone wrong (let’s hope the chicks don’t fall into the seagulls courtyard 🫣). Hatch is a most appropriate name for us at the moment!!
