Middleton Rangers Spitfires 5 vs 4 Stokesley FC

A very entertaining game saw Spitfires take an early lead when Kai L playing in Jamie T to calmly finish into the bottom corner. Stokesley got back level before a Noah S corner was converted by the commanding Nye D to restore the lead. Once again, Kai L played a lovely weighted pass for Jamie T to finish past the goalkeeper before Stokesley got one back to make it 3-2 at half time.

In the second half Stokesley started brightly and got themselves level before that man Jamie T latched onto a lose ball to make it 4-3. Stokesley once again got level and it looked like we were heading for a draw. In the final moments of the game, a clearance from defence saw Jamie T race past two defenders to once again calmly finish in the bottom corner to make it 5-4!

U12s Spitfires Match report:
MRFC 4 vs Eaglescliffe Whites 2

A positive start by Spitfires getting a couple of sites of goal before a counter attack and a shot which went over the goal keeper saw Whites take the lead. The boys continued to play great football and got a hold in the game when Kai L played a great through ball for Jamie T to calmly slot past the keeper to make it 1-1.

Spitfires continued to dominate and got themselves in front when the ball was bobbling around the box and Nye D found himself free at the back post to smash the ball home to give the spitfires the lead.

The spitfires continued to make chances in the first half and once again with the ball bouncing round the box, it was Noah S this time who turned it home after an initially good save from the Whites keeper. A controversial penalty then let Whites back into the game and Spitfires went in 3-2 ahead at the break.

A more nervy start to the second half but Spitfires eventually grew into it and largely kept Whites at bay. Whites had a couple of chances to draw level but super sub Jenson P got himself down the right to cross in for Jamie T to grab his second of the game. Spitfires saw out the game and every single person ran their socks off and worked as a team today!

Some great football by Spitfires today 👏⚽️

U12 Spitfires v Eaglescliffe Elementis Royals.

Great performance by the Spitfires today, played some of the best football we've seen. Midfield and defence both absolutely solid.

Went 1 nil up in the first have with Toby getting the goal with a great solo run and finish.

Second goal came after the keeper made a save and Noah followed up to score.

Well done to our Left back Toby who was voted Pizza Nareno man of the match - enjoy your pizza! Also a special mention for Riley who was exceptional at right back today and a close second on the voting.

Full time Spitfires 2-0 Eaglescliffe.

Riverside Juniors Girls U13’s 1 vs 2 Middleton Rangers Spitfires U12’s

A game in the middle of a storm was always going to fun and it was Riverside who took advantage of playing into the wind as they took the lead mid way through the first half. Middleton got themselves going and made chances. We got ourselves level just before half time when Kai L slipped the ball through to Noah who dispatched it into the bottom corner.

In the second half Middleton took advantage of the wind early on as this time Thomas E played a defence splitting pass through for Tyler T who made no mistake to finish in the bottom corner. Middleton continued to press but couldn’t take their chances and the game finished 1-2 to Middleton.

U12 Spitfires Match Report
MRFC 5 Vs 1 Mount Pleasant

An early goal from Noah S after good work from Kai down the right to cross the ball in the box set the Spitfires off on a strong footing. Mount Pleasant got back into the game and got themselves level before Kai got on the score sheet this time and then turned provider again for Jamie T to finish by curling one in the top corner to make it 3-1 at half time.

Second half and the lads kicked on with Tyler T getting a quick fire double with assists from Jamie and Nye to put the game to bed. The lads kept pressing and made more chances but couldn’t finish them. The lads defended superbly and worked their socks off!

U12 Spitfires Match Report

First round of the league cup for the U12 Spitfires today away at Hartlepool St Francis Royals. A team 5 divisions higher than us.

Really strong start saw us take the lead with Jamie getting the goal with the assist by Toby.
St Francis equalised with an mis-hit strike that stuck in off the post.

Spitfires failed to convert a penalty and missed another good chance meaning we went in level at halftime.

A misplaced pass resulted in the opposition taking the lead within seconds of kickoff.
More errors gave the opposition a couple more goals and in they end they ran away with it.

Boys never stopped and kept going to the end though so proud of their efforts.

Stokesly 9 v 4 MRFC

A very physical performance from both sides but Stoksley got themselves too far ahead in the first half, we reduced the deficit at the end of the first half through Noah S and Kai L.

We came out stronger in the second half but a quick fire double meant we were up against it but a Noah S penalty and another Kai finish after Noah S went on a run past 3 defenders to cut it back meant it ended 9-4.
