Hey folks, we’ll be CLOSED 3 consecutive mondays-7th, 14th and 21st, due to a well deserved break for one of our kitchen staff. Unfortunetly we cannot run the café 7/7 days with only 2 chefs present (Nicoleta and Catalin)❤️

Make no mistakes, we’ll be here Tuesday-Sunday 9:30am-4:30pm, serving great food and even better coffee and cakes!

We hope no one shows up disappointed on Monday🥹

WE ARE HIRING PART-TIME POSITION☕️🐕

As summer slowly comes to an end, and schools, colleges and universities begin once again, we say a brief goodbye to some of our wonderful and talented staff🥹

But this also means that we now have a new position opening for a Barista/Front of House to join us at Eden Balmalcolm Den!

We’re looking for someone who is barista trained, has speciality coffee experience and is confident in their latte art skills and espresso extraction knowledge! The rest is down to your personal experience and personality, as at Eden we are an inclusive and super friendly team❤️

We guarantee free staff meals on shift, tips, great vibes and staff parties as part of the wider Balmalcolm Den community!

A little project we have going on in the background, here at Balmalcolm Den! 🍅🫜

We are curently growing our own produce at a small scale, both for the coffee shop and for our own consumption. Not only does it mean that the salads are fresher and grown organically, but it also is very satisfying taking care of our own greenhouse🙃

Scattered moments at Eden this week!🥗🐶🍓

As we’ve reached the middle of summer, we’ve enjoyed quiet and sunny moments after work or before the rush hours, offering a bit of stillness and time for reflection.

Tomorrow (Monday), we will be opening our doors from 9:30am for a trial period, as we’re aware many of you would enjoy a sweet treat and coffee on this day too! We kindly ask everyone to be patient with us as as we navigate this change, considering also that we’ll be running a a slightly adjusted menu🙃

We have news!!! We are now open MONDAYS for the summer period (and possibly beyond)🍅☕️☀️

Upon reflection, and with a little bit of inquisitivity, we decided to trial being open Mondays for the forseable future, depending on how it goes!

We’re aware that many places are closed on Mondays, and as the holidays are in full swing (hopefully weather remains favourable), we thought why not open the space to the community for the whole week. 🫜

The menu will be fully operational EXCEPT for a few items, to be decided on the day in order to keep waste to a minimum, as we figure out how busy Mondays are.

Time to introduce you the beautiful painting we have on our walls. A few months ago, we invited Becca 🌀🍃 to create a piece especially for our space. We gave her complete creative freedom, trusting her vision will come to life and fit perfectly into our space. Rebecca drew inspiration from “historical interpretations of the Book of Genesis, including The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch and the surrealist visions of Leonora Carrington. The colour palette was carefully considered to echo the space’s green tones, creating an atmosphere that balances the serenity of the Fife-inspired landscape with playfulness.”

To complete the piece, it was carefully set into a handcrafted oak barrel frame, made by our owner, Cătălin, a final touch that makes it feel truly at home.

Next time you visit, take a moment to stand before it and let your eyes wander noticing all the small details. And if you will like to take a piece of it home, prints are now available in the cafe.
