Excited to have received our copy of Cullen: The History by John Aitken. It follows the Royal Burgh from around 1150 to the present day.

Of particular interest to us are mentions of Farskane House, built in the 1600s and now part of the hotel.

It's packed with detail and well worth a read for anyone curious about the town. Copies are available for purchase at the Cullen Heritage Centre.

This weekend: crab cakes on cajun parsnip puree, open-faced roast beef, and parmesan crusted salmon with a lemon cream sauce.

The weekend specials feature Moray brown crab 🦀 , landed right here in Cullen. Sweet, fresh, and about as local as it gets.

This weekend: crab au gratin, dressed crab with salad, a vegetable casserole with potato dumplings, and jam sponge to finish. All running alongside our usual menu.

The Christmas menu is out 🎄, served 27 November to 23 December.

Twelve dishes across three courses, including lobster ravioli, the award-winning Cullen skink and a proper roast turkey dinner, finished with range of desserts including Simpson’s ice cream from down the road in Buckie.

A seniors’ Christmas lunch runs alongside it. Feel free to get in touch for details or to make a booking.

Groups, work nights out and company gatherings are very welcome, with private spaces available. Larger parties are worth booking early, as December fills quickly.

Local Moray brown crab 🦀 stuffed into a baked salmon fillet this weekend, with a tomato and red pepper sauce. Lobster 🦞 in fresh today ahead of the weekend, half or whole. Fishcakes to start, and apricot sponge with custard to finish.
