Important update‼️

We’re absolutely heartbroken to share that our GoFundMe has been reset after we unfortunately missed an important verification email. As a result, every single donation has automatically been refunded back to each donor.

We honestly can’t believe it. Seeing £1,550 disappear has been devastating, especially knowing how generous and supportive everyone has been.

Firstly, thank you to every single person who donated. Your support has meant more than you’ll ever know, and we’re so sorry this happened.

Love this 💛✨

Retired science teacher Joel Wegener wanted to make sure his adult children, Mary and Josh, who both have Down syndrome, had meaningful employment opportunities after seeing how difficult it could be for them to find work. So he bought an old ice cream truck for $6,000, fixed it up, and launched Special Neat Treats, giving his children the chance to work alongside him serving their Ohio community.

What began as a simple family business quickly became something much bigger. Running the ice cream truck has helped Mary and Josh build confidence, strengthen their communication and social skills, and gain greater independence while bringing joy to thousands of customers. Joel hopes their success inspires other families to think creatively about creating opportunities for people with disabilities and to recognize their abilities rather than their limitations.

We’ve got a real chance right now. Crieff is asking for a clear direction before developers come knocking. If we want investment that actually fits our town for example more:

Cafes
More restaurants
tourism
leisure
proper support for ASN families
Something different

Then we NEED to say it! What The Sense isn’t just for people with additional needs; it’s for us locals of all ages to have fun and experience that wow factor, with dedicated sessions for ASN individuals. If that vision speaks to you, please take a couple minutes to have your say so they know what our community values! if you don’t tell them what you want they will just assume for us.
