Ello you lot! I know what you’re thinking: “It’s that time of year already?!” And if you’re not, fair play. Personally, I can’t get over just how fast summer has gone! It’s officially fire season, lady and gents. 😎🧡 And I, Lil, have become an attempted fire starter. Not a twisted one though. Just a small-ish, ginger, one… I think I’m gerrin better by the minute! I’d like to think! Oh aren’t I cheesy… 😬🤣🎉

We are open from 5pm with the usual Cliff service throughout this glorious autumnal week! With a warm selection of homemade soups, stews and pies to tempt you to get your glad rags on and endure the windy walk… (Or car ride of course!) 😜😊 Not to mention, the selection of ales that awaits you. If that’s your bag.

I really should use a more fireside soundtrack but this song and album is lingering in my head. Superfly. Curtis Mayfield. Belting. Makes me feel like I’m in some kind of movie! You’re in Crich, Lilli… Not Harlem! 😜

Feel free to comment any funky musical recs as cool as this track. It’d be appreciated. I feel the need to create some kind of Cliff Inn soundtrack! I’m halfway there…

Get yer selves up for a pint, chat, or whatever takes your fancy. As always, as it has to be said, a big cheers to you for all your continuous support. Even as the colder months are just around the corner - we are extremely lucky to say that we have been outstandingly busy and well-supported by our friends and customers.

And for that I am so very grateful. As we all are. It’s a hard trade to be in at times as many will be aware. We can only try our best. The love is endless, it really is. Thank you everyone. You have been so very lovely to us! Imposter syndrome is a real thing! 😂🥰♥️

As promised, a little more detail for the Crich Bonfire & Fireworks:
📅 Thursday November 5th.
🔥 Field opposite St Micheal’s Close, near Town End.
💰 Entry charges have not changed this year, despite increasing costs. Adults - £5, Children 5-16 years - £2.50, Under 5s – Free. Pay on the gate; no advance tickets. Cash and cards accepted.
⏰ Gates open at 6.00pm.
Bonfire lit at 7.00pm.
Fireworks at 7.30pm and will last for 10-15 minutes.
🍔 Refreshments will be available, including our legendary hog roast, a vegetarian option and hot & cold drinks.

More information, including a number of 'housekeeping' points will be published here about 2 weeks before the event. Be sure to look out for it ☺️.

Well… As you may have heard, Crich got a little bit tropical on Saturday. 😎💃🏼🌴

The ridiculously cool The Sugar Tree came to The Cliff Inn. Latin, Jazz, Pop and Soul go into the blender. What comes out is gloriously groovy, wildly infectious and very hard to sit still to…

Kay and Pino were just phenomenal. The sort of musicians who make you stop mid-pint and think, “Bloody hell, these two are fabulous.” Both hugely talented in their own right, and both absolute characters - lovely, down-to-earth and impossible not to warm to. 😊♥️

And judging by the amount of people who came and found me afterwards to tell me how fabulous they were… I wasn’t the only one thinking it. 😉😊✊🏻

In the midst of it, Kay very kindly handed Teach a tambourine and we were treated to a rather quirky rendition of Stuck In The Middle With You.

Then, because this is The Cliff and apparently normal gigs aren’t enough anymore, Teach returned with his spade for the last song: Valerie. What more could you need in life! 😜

I mean… where else? 😂

Mega cheers to one of my favourite reprobates, Rachel, for stumbling across The Sugar Tree at one of the best pubs round ’ere - The Barley Mow at Bonsall and thinking, “Yep, they need to come to Crich.” 😂😎♥️

And The Sugar Tree - I am officially begging you to come back next year. I think Crich needs another dose…

One of the best nights we’ve had at the pub for sure! Bloody fabulous. Properly cool. Slightly bonkers. Exactly how we like it!

A big Ay up from me to you! Here’s what I’ve been up to for anyone who happens to be interested… 😂😊

What a weekend. Unfortunately, due to all of us having an absolute ball… I appear to have completely failed at taking any decent photos or videos of Saturday night. Unbelievable, I know!

But believe me when I say this Rivers, as usual, were bloody fabulous.

And in true Rivers fashion, at the end the drummer swapped places with the lead guitarist and gave us Parklife. Absolutely brilliant. 😂♥️

I also managed to nip down to The Old Black Swan on Saturday to see our lovely mates Karl and Karen, and it looks brilliant. They’ve already done such a fab job with the place and it’s so nice seeing another village pub buzzing. What more could one need. We’re really looking forward to supporting them along the way! 😊

The fun “dunt” stop there… This week is already bound to be another mad one!

Our usual monthly quiz will be occurring THIS THURSDAY! 9pm start, followed by a hearty home-cooked supper by landlady Amy for all participants… Because apparently using your brain makes you hungry! 😜🤓📝 The ongoing tradition of pizza night and meat raffle madness prevails on Friday… And then to top it off The Sugar Tree’s first gig at The Cliff! THIS SATURDAY! Bringing their latin, jazz, pop, and soul goodness. 8pm start. 🌴💃🏼😎

It’s been such a lovely week here. Good music, good people, good pubs, plenty of laughs and a fair few pints. Hope to see a few of you ‘round these parts some time this week! ☺️✊🏻

Tomorrow’s the big day! 😎😊🎉

Our lovely mates Karl and Karen are taking over the reins at The Old Black Swan - right in the heart of the village at The Market Place.

We know first hand that they have worked incredibly hard getting the place ready, and we know they’re going to make it something really special. 😎♥️

So if you’re about tomorrow, get yourself down there, have a pint, say hello and give them a proper warm welcome!
