A Message to Our Valued Customers
This morning, news and photographs relating to our pub were shared across various online media and social media platforms. We understand that many of our customers may have seen these reports.
We believe it is important to address these concerns openly and honestly.
Few weeks ago, an issue was identified at the premises. Rather than ignoring it, we acted immediately by working closely with professional pest control specialists and our new cleaning team carrying out the necessary corrective measures. We remain committed to maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment for both our customers and our team.
Some of the photographs currently being shared online were taken previously and shared internally in our groups for awareness and to highlight the cleaning precautions we needed to take. Regarding these same issues, we were forced to let some members of staff go. As for the rest, I do not feel it is appropriate to comment further here.
Many of our regular customers will have already noticed that the pub has undergone significant changes since we took over five months ago. We have invested considerable time and effort into improving the premises, our service and our food offering, and this work is continuing every day.
Following our recent reopening, food service only resumed after the appropriate approval from the Food Safety Officer. We have never compromised on the quality or safety of the food we serve, and we remain committed to maintaining high standards across every aspect of our operation.
We are aware of the current 1-star Food Hygiene Rating. This reflects an earlier inspection during a period when the business was undergoing renovation and operational changes. We are continuing to complete the remaining improvements and are committed to achieving a higher rating at the earliest opportunity.
Looking ahead, we are excited to share our plans for the future. Our front area will become a dedicated restaurant, while we are creating a spacious sports bar, kids play area, alongside improved seating in our conservatory and beer garden, providing a better experience for everyone who visits us.
We are also introducing a centralised kitchen operation across our pubs, led by a chef with over 45 years of experience, who will oversee food quality, consistency and kitchen standards throughout the business.
Crediton has welcomed me warmly over the past five months, and I cannot thank the local community enough for the kindness, encouragement and support you have shown me. Your trust means everything to us.
I understand that trust is earned through actions, not words. All I ask is a little more time to complete the improvements we have started. I promise that we will continue working hard every day to provide a pub that our community can be proud of.
Thank you for your continued support, patience and understanding. We look forward to welcoming you and showing you the positive changes for yourselves.
