We set off in search of some nice big leaves to use to for our caterpillar craft. However we couldn’t find the ones we needed so we will save this idea for next week! Our morning turned into waving at Lorries on the bridge, balancing on logs, saying hello to dogs on their walk, catching bubbles and making stick men out of leaves and sticks!

Autumn walk on a beautiful day with our little people 🍂🍁…hunting for autumn treasures, spotting squirrels, seeing leaves falling from the trees and feeding the ducks 🦆 & geese! 🪿

Autumn 🍁🍂
L enjoyed counting the conkers in the sensory tray (our budding mathematician!), so we expanded on this by getting the number trays out so that he could sort and count. By the time we got to no. 7 he had run out of conkers so we changed to counting animals instead 😂 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣4️⃣5️⃣6️⃣7️⃣8️⃣9️⃣🔟

Can you balance a pine cone on a tube?
Will it fall over?
How many pine cones do we have?
Is it easier on a short tube or a tall tube?
Are they heavy? Are they light?
Is it easier to balance a big one or a small one?
Why?
So many open-ended opportunities with such a simple autumn activity which covers all areas of the EYFS while the children are having fun exploring with the materials ✅

We were very excited to get back to little stars today 🌟 Everyone got stuck in playing straight away. Some enjoyed making harvest pictures by doing apple prints and we all enjoyed singing time doing the actions and jumping up and down! 🎶

Great morning at our Tiny Happy People group! It was Owl week! 🦉 Our little ones settled back in well and enjoyed being back joining in all the fun making Owl crafts, playing with the Owl nest tray and playing with all sorts of toys. They especially enjoyed listening to Cathy read “Wow said the Owl” and joining in with singing time. W was chuffed she was picked to choose something out of Karen’s bag 🥰🎵
