This is an emotional post for us as a family.
In 2017, Paul and Emily opened the doors of The Yard, fulfilling our dream to own a restaurant
where we live, in Cowbridge. Valerie joined the team a few years later to work with Emily and
Charlie joined the team in the kitchen. This was truly a family run business and independent.
We would like to thank everyone that has worked with us over the years using their talents to
help provide a quality product on the Cowbridge food scene. Without you all, we would not have
made it to 8 years in service. Not forgetting our great suppliers. Thank you all so much!
We would like to thank all of you, our customers and friends that we have met during this time.
We will miss serving you, but we can now become customers in Cowbridge and sit on the other
side of the bar! We look forward to sharing a drink with you when we meet you in town.
But, sadly, due to the financial climate, the time has come to close the doors on The Yard with
immediate effect and move onto new pastures.
Emily has recently signed with a London Talent Agent and we, her family, know this is the start of
an amazing journey for her. She sacrificed her talent for our family business, but now is her time
to shine and we are so proud and excited for her.
Paul will move onto something new and Valerie is putting her feet up for a well deserved rest!
Charlie is going off to Uni, studying music.
The last 8 years have been hard work, but also a privilege to serve you all. So many of you were
returning customers and that meant the world to us. A lot of you have become good friends. A
special thank you to the Yardens. You know who you are.
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
