🩵 GUYS, JUST A LITTLE CLARIFICATION ABOUT OUR AWARDS NIGHT 🩵

Hey everyone,

I’ve had quite a few messages about tickets for our Awards Night, and I completely understand the frustration from those who have missed out or are waiting to see if any become available.

I just wanted to come on here personally and explain exactly where we are with things, because I never want anyone thinking I’m ignoring messages or being unfair.

At the moment, all of the tickets have been provisionally allocated. As I always do with our events, everything is done on a first come, first served basis because I genuinely believe that is the fairest way to do it.

BUT — and this is the important bit — a provisional booking isn’t a secured ticket. Your place is only officially secured once your deposit or full payment has been received.

I’m having to be quite strict with this one, and honestly, it’s not because I want to be awkward. You all know how much work goes on behind the scenes to put these nights together. The ticket money helps cover the costs, and we have things that need paying for and organising well in advance — our artists, entertainment, personalised gifts for everyone attending and so much more.

The personalised gifts alone take a lot of organising, and I want every single person who comes through those doors to feel that we’ve made the effort to make their night special. 🩵

So, if you have provisionally booked a ticket, please make sure your deposit is paid by MONDAY at the latest. If payment hasn’t been received by then, I will unfortunately have to release the ticket to someone else who is waiting.

🩵 KANE’S MEMORIAL — A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR THE CHILDREN 🩵

Of course, we will be OPEN and ready to welcome everyone for our child-friendly memorial in memory of Kane and all of the loved ones we have lost. 🩵

We’re putting together some arts and crafts for the children, and we’d love your help!

We’re hoping to create some beautiful hanging ornaments for the children to decorate, which we can then hang around the tree area outside the café to brighten the space and create something special for them to be part of. 🥹🩵

So, if anyone has any glitter, glue, paints, ribbons, pipe cleaners, beads, wooden shapes, card, craft materials or anything else that could be used to make hanging decorations, we would be incredibly grateful.

If you have anything you could donate, please get in touch with us. Every little bit will help us make the day special for the children. 🩵

🎈 BALLOON RELEASE 🎈

We will also be holding a balloon release in memory of Kane and all those we have sadly lost.

If you would like to take part, please bring a balloon with you. You can bring one in memory of someone special, add a message, or simply bring one to stand alongside our community as we remember those who are no longer with us. 🩵

A massive thank you to Kelsey at Kelsey’s Character Club, who once again, without a second thought, has donated her amazing mascots for our event.

Whether it’s a huge event or something small and personal to our community, Kelsey always pulls out all the stops and goes above and beyond for us.

We genuinely appreciate you more than you know, Kelsey. Thank you for always supporting what we do and helping us create those special moments for our community. 🩵🩵

Kane’s memory lives on, and together we can make sure there are smiles amongst the memories too. 🩵

Sorry i need to rant!!!!

Let me make one thing very, very clear: I will not be bullied into silence simply because someone doesn’t like being challenged.

Apparently, the moment I stopped agreeing, stopped staying quiet and started speaking my mind, I suddenly became a “bully.”

How convenient.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Everyone. Including me.

I don’t lose that right because somebody finds my opinion uncomfortable. I don’t become a bully because I refuse to nod along with something I fundamentally disagree with. And I certainly won’t apologise for having a backbone.

Over the last two days I’ve been labelled a “bully” and had the usual “she calls herself a mental health advocate” comments thrown around.

Let me tell you something…

I am human.

I don’t claim to be perfect. I don’t claim to get everything right. And I certainly don’t claim that everyone has to agree with me.

But if something is said to me, about me, or about something I have spent years building and I disagree with it, I am perfectly entitled to say so.

That’s not bullying.

That’s having a voice. That’s having boundaries. That’s standing up for myself.

And apparently that’s become a problem for some people.

I have spent the last four years putting my whole heart into supporting people, helping groups, sharing knowledge, contacts, resources, links and things I’ve personally gone out and learnt. I’ve helped people build their organisations, improve what they do and become more professional and authentic.

I’ve given my time freely because I genuinely cared.

So forgive me if I’m not going to sit quietly now and allow somebody to rewrite history because I’ve finally seen a situation for what it actually is.

I won’t be used when I’m useful and discarded when I’m no longer needed.

I won’t be expected to keep my mouth shut simply because speaking honestly makes somebody uncomfortable.

And I certainly won’t accept somebody taking everything I’ve given, benefiting from my time, knowledge and support, and then attempting to paint me as the villain because I no longer agree with them.

Absolutely not.

Personal disagreements are one thing. I have always kept those separate from the work we do.

But deliberately creating a narrative about someone’s character because they have challenged you or finally stood up for themselves is something completely different.

And let’s be brutally honest — if your version of events requires making somebody else look like a bully simply because they disagreed with you, perhaps the problem isn’t the person who finally spoke up.

Perhaps it’s the fact that they’re no longer playing along.

I know exactly what I’ve done for people.

I know how many hours I’ve given.

I know how much I’ve helped.

I know what I’ve sacrificed.

And I know the intentions I’ve had from day one.

So nobody is going to take my good name, my integrity or the work I’ve built and throw it in the mud just because they don’t like the fact that I’ve finally worked out their true nature.

I’m not going to sit here and beg people to believe me.

The people who know me know me.

They know my heart.
They know my character.
They know the work.
They know how much I give.
And they know I don’t need to pretend to be something I’m not.

I am passionate. I’m outspoken. I’m stubborn as hell when I believe something is wrong.

And I’ll continue to be.

Because right is right and wrong is wrong, regardless of who is standing on the other side of the argument.

So if having boundaries, having an opinion and refusing to be walked over makes me a “bully” in somebody else’s eyes…

I’ll sleep perfectly fine tonight.

I’d rather be called difficult for standing up for myself than be a doormat just to keep everybody else comfortable.

And one final thing…

Don’t confuse my kindness with weakness.

I’ve spent years giving people the benefit of the doubt.

That privilege has now run out.

I know exactly who I am.

Another absolutely incredible donation, and honestly, I’m struggling to find the words. 🥹

Our girl Sheena and her amazing husband chris have very kindly donated a £100 voucher for our raffle, as well as a £40 voucher to be used at Lennon Flowers. 💐🩵

This genuinely means so much to us.

You two have always gone above and beyond for us. From the very first tragedy, when you created the most beautiful tribute, right through to today — you have continued to show up, support us and stand behind everything I’ve ever done.

That kind of support is something I will never take for granted.

You have been there through so much, and every single time, you have shown nothing but kindness, generosity and genuine community spirit.

If my maths is correct, our count is now at 98, which means we have just 2 tickets remaining! 😭💙

As always, our amazing guest speakers and award nominees receive complimentary tickets for themselves and a guest. That means we have sold a massive 70 out of the 72 tickets available to the public for this event.

And honestly… THAT IS HUGE! 🥹

Every single ticket goes a long way towards helping us put this night together and cover the costs involved — including our incredible live acts, which we are just about to officially confirm! 🎶✨ And the amazing food being served 😉 If i do say so myself 🤣🤣

The truth is, we genuinely could not put these events on without you. Your support, your ticket purchases and the faith you put in what we are trying to create allows us to keep bringing people together and put on the best night we possibly can.

This year, we have also been incredibly fortunate to have the most amazing team of people jumping in and helping behind the scenes. From a massive donation of our backdrop to our beautiful table centrepieces, there are people quietly working behind the scenes to help make this evening something really special.

I will ask permission before sharing who is helping us, because ultimately that is their choice — but please know I am beyond grateful. 💙

If I’m completely honest, one of my biggest stresses when I start putting these evenings together is always:

“Will I actually fill the room?”

Well… I think we just answered that. 🥹

I am overwhelmed. I am grateful. And I am so incredibly proud of what we are creating together.
