Late update...coz I got chatting to chatty customers...

Anyhoo, restocks and a couple of new cans from Twice Brewed Brewing Co. Tiny European Cars might not be new, but it's certainly the first time I've got it in. See if you lot fancy lower ABV beers...

AI Slop 5.6% Murky IPA
Inspired by the naff beer labels breweries are putting out using AI, plus the John Carpenter classic, The Thing. AI Slop is what we are calling a Murky IPA, it's thick and super hazy! Packed full of a variety of new world hops layered over an oat and wheat heavy malt bill, this IPA delivers big flavours of tropical and stone fruit, with way more body than you'd expect in a 5.6% beer. Designed by humans, brewed by humans.

Tiny European Cars 2.4% Micro IPA
A super sessionable hazy pale ale with notes of citrus and tropical fruits, thanks to the very generous dry hop of Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo and Simcoe. Expect flavours of Grapefruit and Orange zest, with notes of stone fruit and a touch tropical,
SIBA National GOLD winner - No and Low Keg Beer
A great thirst quenching beer at only 1.1 units of alcohol per 440ml can.

You may be aware that something is happening in the sky tomorrow evening...you know, just around when I'm supposed to be open...
This eclipse will be the largest coverage of the sun in Britain for the rest of my lifetime, so I've taken the decision to enjoy the spectacle and not open on Wednesday.
I'm assuming most other people will be either too busy watching, or at The Grey Horse beer festival. So hopefully I won't miss anyone!

Much needed restocks from George Samuel Brewery Ltd in Shildon.
Cavalcade isn't a new beer, but it is the first time I've had it in the shop...not sure how I missed it previously! 🤔

Here's a reminder of what these beers are:

Cavalcade 4% Golden Bitter
Traditional bitter brewed with British malts and British Challenger and Fuggles hops.

Hope 5% Hazy Pale Ale
Named after the second locomotive of the Stockton & Darlington Railway. Brewed with British extra pale Maris Otter, wheat, oats, and flaked barley. Dry hopped with Citra, Simcoe, and Amarillo.

Terminus 5.5% IPA
Brewed with a blend of Maris Otter and extra pale Maris Otter malt, oats, and wheat. Big citrus flavours from Simcoe and Amarillo hops.

It's been a wee while...but there has been some pestering for me to get them back in...so Otherworld Brewing are back on the shelves this very evening! 🙂

Here's what they say about these fantastic looking beers:

Smoked Helles 4.4%
A crisp, dry rauchbier brewed with generous amounts of Bavarian beechwood smoked malt and cherrywood smoked malt. In a departure from our barrel aged lagers, this version layers fruity and tart cherrywood malt on top of the soft, rich beechwood smoked malt flavours for a complex depth of smoke flavour while still remaining sessionable.

Dead Alive 5% IPA
A refreshing, balanced IPA packed with clean, zesty citrus notes from Citra hops, rounded off with smooth and juicy El Dorado and bright Nelson Sauvin. Expect a vibrant white grape fruitiness, orange juice, and pine notes, leading into a clean gooseberry finish.

Lethe 5.2% DDH Blonde
A marriage of the dry and bitter west coast IPA style to spicy clean Belgian blonde ales, delivering a complex, bright, and refreshing hybrid. American Centennial, and Cascade give bright citrus, orange, and pine notes which add to mellow fruitiness and crisp spiciness of Belgian abbey ales.

Serpentine 5.7% Scottish Fruit Sour
Scottish Blueberries, Tayberries and Honeyberries combine for a bright, juicy and well balanced sour. Expect a deceptively dry and easy drinking beer bursting with fruit character that keeps you coming back for more.

Puppet Master 6% NEIPA
A thick, hazy, and pillowy soft NEIPA featuring a complex range of hop additions. El Dorado, Idaho 7, Galaxy, Rakau, Centennial, and Krush hops give familiar waves of tropical fruit, orange juice, apricot, pineapple, and mango.

Maelstrom 8% DIPA
An enormous and vibrant Double IPA where a peachy, decadent but pillowy soft malt body supports classic American hops. Idaho 7 delivers a tropical fruit salad of mango, tangerine, and orange, matched by the bright passionfruit and citrus notes of Citra for an indulgent, rich, but refreshing finish.

If you're at a loose end tomorrow evening, get yourself along to Consett Heart - Heritage and Arts Centre to see Defiant, the new film from Lonely Tower Film & Media.

Mrs Bog Potato's first flower has opened!

I don't know if this is a good thing as far as developing tubers go...so I'll have to look it up. But it's a nice, nightshadey flower. 🙂

New shiny cans are in from Rigg & Furrow up in Northumberland. And they all sound rather bloody lovely! 😁

Double Stout 5.4%
A special stout bewed in collaboration with our pals from Simpsons Malt, showcasing their new export brown malt, to create a roasty dark beer with a silky smooth finish.

Tractor Beam 5.6% Hazy IPA
Hazy hoppy beer brewed with Nectaron, Citra, and Nelson Sauvin hops, plus fluffy flaked wheat. Fermented with a fruity yeast for juicy citrus and tropical notes.

Gander 5.6% Hazy IPA with Gooseberries
Brewed with flaked wheat and oats & hopped with Hallertau Blanc and Nelson Sauvin, before fermentation with an estery English ale yeast. Cold side additions of 120kg of Scottish grown Gooseberries and further hopping with a whole load of beautiful Nelson Sauvin from . We're getting juicy citrus notes of Savvy B and star fruit, with a refreshing touch of acidity from the Gooseberries, and a moreish grapefruit bitter finish. Like the majority of our beers it finishes relatively dry, for maximum balance and drinkability.

Veil of Gorse 6.0% Hazy IPA
A hazy & hoppy IPA brewed with gorse flowers foraged right here on the farm, plus Sabro, Citra & Mosaic hops. Big tropical flavours and subtle coconut join forces in this hop saturated IPA.

Inspired by Twice Brewed Brewing Co.'s AI Slop beer (coming back in cans very soon!), the Blast Furnace Hardcore Crew did some silly AI slops this evening! 🙄😂

My personal opinion is that AI is fantastic for data analysis and amusing pictures. That's it really.
