🌼💍Simple Spring Wedding at Steam💍🌸

A busy weekend at Steam Coniston was topped off with the absolute pleasure of hosting a little wedding celebration for Grant & Michelle 💞

A gathering of family & friends, drinks in the garden, heartfelt speeches & group first dance! 🔔

Its more than just feeding folks, its the making of memories for occasions like this & we absolutely LOVE being a part of these special days 🍾

👋Just a little heads up that we'll be closed on Wednesday 29th April...

We're taking the team to a charity dinner to support The Burnt Chef Project a great organisation that offers mental health support to the hospitality industry ❤

Not to get too deep or 'pity post' but it seems a good take time out to think about mental health & the human side of our business...

We LOVE what we do, but there's no denying it can be mentally & physically brutal at times, with long hours, anti social shift patterns & a fair bit of stress chucked in the mix!

Things don't always go to plan, but we work hard to aim that they do, so your continued support in times that have never been harder for hospitality, means the world 🙏

Obviously things go wrong sometimes. If we don't pick up the phone in a busy service, or on our closed days we don't see your email straight away, or the wait for your food is a bit too long because were short staffed, please bear with us, we're a very small team, we're human & it will never be intentional or because we don't care

Every one of your visits, kindness & 'thank yous' to our staff, interaction with our posts & feedback really does lift the team spirit X

(PS - Back at it Thursday 30th, open Wednesday - Sunday evenings through to Autumn/Winter)

We've got tables this evening so once you've enjoyed a day of this glorious Coniston weather, why not come & relax with some of these tasty little dishes from our Small Plate menu, there's definitely something for everyone!

We've recently introduced some lovely new house wines 🍷🥂
We have a white, red & rosè from Domaine Saint Andre in the Languedoc-Roussillon, France. These wines are a perfect fit for us to be able to offer great quality, good value house wine that we're proud to list 😊

Another new addition is our Charity House Wine - "The Pikes" Merlot & Sauvignon Blanc with a donation from each sale going to local Mountain Rescue ⛰⛑

🎂 HAPPY 18th TO OUR LOVELY GEORGIA! 🥂

Many of you will have been looked after out front by Georgia (aka 'G' aka 'Gorgeous' 😁)
on your visits to Steam. Recently she's also been training back of house making some fab starters & desserts

We'd like to wish her the happiest of birthdays and say a big thank you for all of her hard work & willingness to turn her hand to absolutely anything! ### 💖

👋 Little update about whats going on as we head into the busier months...

🥘 Welcome back Wednesdays!
We will be open every Wednesday evening from 1st April until the end of the season, so make the 'hump day' of the week a 'hurrah day' and join us for a mid week bite from our Small Plate menu

🍗 Our final Sunday lunch service until Autumn will be Easter Sunday, 5th April, so if you want a final fix of those big old Yorkshire puds, get booked in for tomorrow or next Sunday!

🍷After Sarah & Marie spent a day wine tasting and 'meeting the makers' (tough job but someone had to do it!😆) our house wines have had a glow up and there are some nice new things coming to our drinks menu

🍸We've had great feedback on our seasonal cocktails, so we're putting together a full Cocktail menu - perfect for popping in to enjoy a tipple in the garden once the sunshine finally gets here!

🚤 We are looking to extend our opening times for the Bluebird Festival week and the summer months, keep an eye on our socials for updates...

WE ❤ A GOOD BUFFET!

And there's nothing better than creating plates of food for friends and family to come together to share 🥂

Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting a very special 80th birthday lunch, a relaxed afternoon of drinks, food, chatter and celebration 🍾

We served up Cumberland sausage rolls, wild mushroom tarts, rosemary & sea salt roasties, a huge seafood platter, salad and pasta bowls, and our brisket, black garlic & Cumbrian cheese croquettes 👌
All finished off with Victoria sponge, chocolate brownie and a pot of tea or Duffins Coffee 🍰

If you'd like us to host a special occasion, our space is available (subject to availability) for private lunches, dinners, buffets and events for up to 40 people. In summer months you can enjoy the use of our little beckside garden as part of your celebration and the bar offers local craft beers, lovely wines & seasonal cocktails 🍸

Let us tailor a menu, drinks, table settings, music and the whole vibe to your individual celebration, so you can just relax and enjoy it!

Off site catering is also available, from finger buffets to our new 'Drop & Dine' offering (Big bowls of hot comfort food designed to share, dropped off at your home, holiday let or venue)
