Darren talks openly about what life was like for him before recovery and how different things are now.

He now lives independently and works with us, helping to run the Youth Project, which is something he’s really proud of.

It’s been amazing watching Darren grow and seeing the person he is today. Really happy for you, Darren! 🙌

We’ve been brushing up on our coffee-making skills at the Community Café ☕️

Some of our staff and volunteers had a bit of barista training this week, learning how to make a proper coffee and getting plenty of practice in while they were at it.

Safe to say, no one was short of caffeine by the end of the day 😂

You’ll have to pop in and put their new skills to the test!

A nice milestone for the lads as they move forward with their programme. 👏

Ste and Ben have completed the programme and are now moving into stage three, while Max, Paul, Ben, Darren and Kevin have graduated stage one and are moving into stage two.

It was also great to see some friends and family there to celebrate with them and share the day.

Plenty of progress to be proud of! ❤️

Our next Theatre of Hope star sharing his story from addiction to recovery, to starring on The Muni Theatre stage this summer is Tariq. After losing his house and his job to the disease and hitting rock bottom, the drama workshops offered to him at Elisha House Recovery Community through Arts for Wellbeing - Pendle allowed him to feel a sense of pride and hope for the future.

📽️Hear Tariq’s fully story below.

2 years. That’s 730 days Tom has chosen recovery. ❤️‍🩹

Anyone who’s been through it knows that reaching a milestone like this doesn’t just happen. There have been good days, difficult days and plenty of work along the way.

We’ve had the privilege of seeing a lot of that journey first hand, and today Tom is two years clean.

Proper achievement mate. Keep going 💪

The lads have been busy helping out with a job for the local Parish Council.

They helped remove the internals from an old public toilet, ready for it to be refurbished into a new accessible toilet.

A good bit of graft and a nice way to give something back to the local community. 💪

The 12 Steps are a big part of recovery at Elisha House.

They’re about understanding yourself, looking at things differently, building a stronger foundation for recovery and making positive changes that can help you move forward.

In this clip, Peter talks about one of the first conversations he had when he came into Elisha House, and the question he was asked about the 12 Steps.

At the time, he hadn’t tried them. Looking back, they became an important part of his recovery.

Sometimes it’s the conversations we have at the beginning that end up meaning the most ❤️‍🩹

A big congratulations to Holly on 2 years of volunteering at Elisha Community Café! ☕️

Paul, Jackie, John and Julie were there to celebrate with her.

Holly has been such a big part of the café over the last two years and has always gone above and beyond. She’s definitely become part of the Elisha family.

Well done, Holly! ⭐️

Julie has been part of the team in our Community Café for a while now, and in this video she talks a bit about her role and what she’s learnt since joining us. ☕️

It’s been great having Julie as part of the team and hearing her talk about her experience. 💙

Here’s a little look at Stuart’s story. 💙

Stuart was once a resident at Elisha House and now lives independently and works as part of our team.

In this interview, he talks about what life was like before Elisha House, his time with us and what life looks like for him now.

It’s really nice to see how far he’s come and to have him sharing his story with us. ❤️
