Drinks to pair with tapas

One of the best things about tapas is having lots of different flavours on the table at once. The only problem? Finding a drink that works with all of them.

The good news is you don’t need a different w**e for the prawns, another for the chorizo and something else for the patatas bravas.

Five summer cocktails to try at home

We’re determined to make the most of these last few weeks of summer – preferably with something cold in a glass.

So we’ve put together five of our favourite easy summer cocktails, from a refreshing Limoncello Spritz and Rhubarb & Ginger Fizz to a classic Bellini.

Nothing too complicated, no lengthy list of ingredients and, importantly, no professional cocktail-making skills required. Just good ingredients, plenty of ice and perhaps a garnish from the garden.

And because a good drink is even better with something to eat, we’ve included a few suggestions for what to serve alongside them too.

Four simple sauces for fresh fish

When the fish is really fresh, you don’t need to do too much to it.
Pan-fry, grill or bake it simply, add a good sauce and you can have something rather special on the table in less than half an hour.
We’ve put together four of our favourites:

- Fresh, herby salsa verde
- Lemon and herb butter
- Tomato, olive and caper sauce
- Creamy white w**e sauce

All are easy to make, use straightforward ingredients and work beautifully with different types of fish. And we’ve included suggestions for which fish to pair with each one.

Our fresh fish counter is stocked every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the selection changing each week depending on what’s fresh, seasonal and good value.

Not sure what to choose? Ask Nick – tell him which sauce you fancy and he’ll suggest the fish to go with it and prepare it ready for you to cook.
