One of our pet peeves is seeing people ride closed trails. Don't do it.

🚫 DO NOT RIDE CLOSED TRAILS 🚫

At some point over the weekend, somebody cut through the ski fencing on Launchpad and rode the trail while it was closed.

To say we're miffed would be an understatement. As the rangers responsible for maintaining the trails, we're both sad and angry that this has happened.

Launchpad is currently closed because the trail surface requires some extra repair work. These repairs take time, and the trail needs to be left undisturbed so the surface can properly set, especially with the increased hot weather we've been having the last couple of weeks.

Every time somebody ignores the closure and rides the trail before it's ready, they undo the hard work that's already been carried out, damage the repairs and delay the trail reopening. In short, they make the problem worse.

What's even more frustrating is that our rangers are now having to spend their limited time replacing damaged fencing and putting up additional signs and barriers.

We know the vast majority of riders respect trail closures and understand they're there for a reason. Thank you to those of you who do the right thing.

But to the small number who think the rules don't apply to them: DON'T RIDE CLOSED TRAILS 🤬

The closures are there to protect the trail, protect the work being carried out and ensure everyone gets a better riding experience when the trail reopens.

Please respect the closures, respect the work and help us get Launchpad back open as quickly as possible.
