Coastal Coffee is one of the few speciality coffee houses in Essex, run by people who truly care about coffee and where all staff are knowledgable about the bean to cup process. We have been desciribed as 'pioneers within our area' with regards to our ethos and quality of coffee, serving pour-over coffee as an alternative to espresso based coffees. Our breakfast menu offers lighter notes such as b

acon sandwiches and pastries as well as our staple breakfast Rosti: a rosti, served with sausage, bacon, cherry vine tomatoes and poached eggs. We also have on our menu avocado and poached eggs and more traditional choices such as eggs royale. Our winter lunch menu includes homemade soups, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, paninis, sausage rolls and homemade pasty.

To all my wonderful, loyal staff, customers and friends I will be closing on 24th January. It’s been an amazing 10 year’s running coastal coffee. For now I’m going to take some much needed time off. I will miss you all ❤️

It is with great sadness after 10 years I have decided to leave Coastal coffee. It has been a decision I have not made lightly. I opened Coastal Coffee as I had always wanted to run my own coffee shop. However it was not just a coffee shop it became part of the community here on Mersea Island. I have met some wonderful people whom have become regulars and friends whom I will miss. Thankyou for all your support over the years. I will be leaving in February to spend more time with my family. This however does not mean the end of Coastal Coffee with the hope someone will take it on. It will be a shame to see it close all together and for Mersea to lose another community hub ❤️
