McGlinchey’s Café will reopen on Thursday 18th June.
As many of you know, we have been closed following the sad passing of our former owner, our Daddy Edmund McGlinchey, on 4th June. This has been an incredibly difficult time for Edmund’s family, friends, staff, and the many customers who knew and loved him over the years.
We have taken this time to mourn his passing, reflect on the remarkable impact he had on our café and community, and pay tribute to a man whose warmth, dedication, kindness, and character touched so many lives. Edmund’s laughter, quick wit, friendly banter, and the countless memories he created over his many years behind the counter will never be forgotten. For many, a visit to McGlinchey’s was made special by Edmund himself.
We would like to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming support, condolences, and understanding shown to us during this period. Your kind words have brought great comfort to all who are grieving.
Our thoughts remain with Edmund’s wife Jean, his daughters, Marie and Oonagh, as they navigate this difficult loss, and we also remember his beloved late son, Eamon. And extended family and friends We hope they find comfort in knowing how much Edmund was respected, admired, and loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we reopen our doors on Thursday 18th June, we do so with heavy hearts, but with a commitment to continue the legacy that Edmund built and cherished. His memory will always remain a part of McGlinchey’s Café and of the community he served so proudly for so many years.
Please continue to keep Edmund’s family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Rest in peace Daddy. You will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
