TEA on the WAY

TEA on the WAY From February onwards we are open most days of the week. It is always advisable to ring and check tho

We are a small and friendly set up for those who enjoy the outdoors and who want to stop off for some refreshments in a beautiful garden with stunning views across the Clun valley. In poor weather there is shelter under our gazebo and tea can be taken in our garden room. Dogs are welcome and we provide safe tethering or grazing for horses. upstairs toilet facilities are available but visitor parki

ng is restricted. Most of our visitors also like to look round our one acre decorative and productive organic garden with its emphasis on attracting wildlife. The Tea Garden is always open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from mid March to the end of October only. We are often open during the week too but it is advisable to ring to check first or to make a specific booking. On other days and all year round, we are open by appointment for groups large and small. Walking, cycling, riding and other interest groups can book for lunch or tea at a time to suit them. Bespoke tea and lunch parties and " Craft & Cream Tea" afternoons for small groups can be booked year round. Homemade jams, and chutneys are always on sale at the gate and craft items including walking sticks and felt items can purchased. We can be found on the Shropshire and Jack Mytton Ways midway between Clun (1.5 miles) and Bury Ditches Hillfort.

Hello to any of TEAon the WAY'S wonderful ex customers who may still be out there.

TEA has been closed for 2 years now and I have been living in Cambridgeshire for a year now.

No TEA on the WAY here. Instead my time is being spent working with a small group of like-minded others to welcome a Syrian family to create a new life in my village. We have a house ready and waiting and have jumped through all the Home Office hoops. Now we are starting to raise the necessary funds to sponsor the young family who will be coming to live amongst us soon.

I moved into my wonderful new home in SoUth Cambridgeshire 7 weeks ago now and am settling well..it a very friendly village and a very pretty one..getting to know lots of people. Have beautiful bluebell woods for my daily dog walk and a very much smaller garden. A very different life to the one Mike and I lived at Guilden Down but with a grand-daughter due in a few weeks time and Valerie my campervan there is much to look forward too. I have such wonderful memories of my time running TEA on WAY and meeting you wonderful people..it seems a life time away and i miss the Shropshire landscape but now i have time to take my 92 year old Mum out for tea in Valerie and enjoy discovering new landscapes...and i will be popping back to the Clun valley in just a few weeks time.

On a beautiful sunny morning in late November this is still a wonderful place to be and I want to thank you all so much for all your wonderful messages and reactions to my sad news. I have felt very loved and supported by you all and the many wonderfull tributes you have given to Mike for the glorious garden he created here. I wish I had the time to reply individually to you all but I do not. Instead please know that as I read each comment and noted each emoticon, I thanked you from the bottom of my heart. So many of your messages and reactions brought a smile to my face as i remembered you being here. Running TEA has been a truly wonderful chapter in my life and each of you who has visited has enriched my life...i have so many wonderful memories of the special people who have spent time with us. I won't be running a version of TEA at my new home, it is time to retire..but I will be posting the occasional update on life in South Cambridgeshire. I hope that if any of you are passing that way you will come as a friend and have a cuppa with me in my new garden. I hope to be moving in January so if you are passing by here in the meantime please pop your head over the gate so that I can say goodbye.

Many of you who live beyond the Clun valley may not have heard my very sad news. In August Mike died just one month after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We were married in our garden, under our gazebo, just 2 weeks before he died. Mike and I's dream had been to build a beautiful garden to share with others and that we realised... how lucky we were. Mike was such a talented and inspired gardener..please give thanks for the great gift he gave us. A new chapter is now beginning in my life. Our home is now for sale (find it on Rightmove) and the dogs and I will be moving to South Cambridgeshire. Thank you for being such wonderful and loyal customers. Creating and running TEA on the WAY these past 6 years has been a joy.

I feel strongly that it is polite to wear a mask as advised and that it might just make a difference to the spread of coronavirus. Whilst I have more time on my hands I have been making large numbers of face masks as gifts for family and friends who have wanted them. I now have stock for sale. Made from repurposed fabrics they are comfy and easy to wear and fully washable. But most of all they are sturdy and well fitting consisting 2 layers of fabric plus a filter layer and a wire bridge across the nose.
They cost £10.00 a pair..one to wear and one for spare.. and come with washing instructions. Payment can be by bank transfer or by cash if you call by to buy. Postage and packing is £2.00. Please choose from the patterns below. Email [email protected] or ring 0779527555

Hello to all our lovely customers. Many of you will be wondering what our plans are for opening this summer. At the moment we have decided that we will not be opening this year. We are wary of the virus and want to keep ourselves, our loved ones, our friends and our customers safe. Sorry to all of you who were waiting for us to welcome you again. We are planning for a new kind of opening in 2021.
