We are very happy to host Kevin Chuter artworks in our cafe space starting today

Kevin has been a London based Artist until he moved to Margate in zuzo. He has been a member or the Islington Arts Society that have shows in and around North London.
He has exhibited work at the Candid Arts gallery (Angel) Espacio Gallery (Brick Lane) Crouch End Library Gallery and has works on display in coffee shops around Stoke Newington Church Street.

He is available for commissions so please get in touch!

To the Empty Plate

There is a particular kind of silence that follows a good meal, not absence, but satisfaction. Tonight it settled over Cliffs after Måndag: gravlax cured with the patience only tradition can teach, potato blinis crisped at the edges, dill scattered like it grew there on purpose. Köttbullar rolled by hand, sat in a gravy that tasted like someone’s grandmother’s kitchen, lingonberry sharp and sweet beside soft, buttery mash.

This is food that refuses to be rushed. It can’t be faked with a shortcut or bought off a shelf, it’s built from years of knowing exactly when something is ready, and the honesty to never serve it before then.

And so, to the empty plate: streaked with the last of the sauce, a stray dill frond, a fork set down with nothing left to do. It’s the best compliment a kitchen can receive, better than words, because it’s true.
