We are on the lookout for a Deputy Manager
Running a great pub is about people, atmosphere, and pride — and The Greyhound needs a Deputy Manager who brings all three. This role is perfect for someone who loves a busy, characterful village pub, thrives in a hands‑on environment, and wants to grow within a respected, long‑standing brewery business.
⭐ The Role
As Deputy Manager, you’ll support the General Manager in the smooth day‑to‑day running of the pub, ensuring guests receive consistently excellent service. You’ll lead by example, motivate the team, and help maintain the warm, welcoming feel The Greyhound is known for.
Key responsibilities include:
Team leadership — coaching, motivating, and supporting front‑of‑house staff
Operational support — overseeing shifts, stock control, cash handling, and compliance
Guest experience — ensuring every visitor enjoys great service and a friendly atmosphere
Food & drink standards — upholding Wadworth’s quality across the bar and kitchen
Community engagement — helping build local relationships and events that keep the pub at the heart of Siddington
💼 What We’re Looking For
Hospitality experience in a supervisory or assistant management role
A passion for great service and genuine guest care
Strong communication and people skills
Confidence in leading shifts and making decisions
A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to get stuck in
Ambition to grow within Wadworth’s pub management pathway
