George and our team have been spending many hours around the grill lately, experimenting with seasonal ingredients and trying out new ideas to give some of your favourite Pit dishes a bit of an autumnal twist.

Carrots, leeks, chicken … there’s been a lot going on over the fire, and a lot of taste testing involved too eyes👀

Some of the first new dishes have already started to make their way onto the menu, including our BBQ Leeks with green pepper and hazelnut romesco and Manchego cheese.

We’re looking forward to sharing the full new menu with you very soon, but in the meantime, we hope you have been enjoying our first arrivals.

GOING:

The Grilled Courgette Salad is having its final weekend on the menu. If it’s one of your favourites, consider this your last call before we swap it out for something more seasonal.

BACK 🔥

The BBQ Lamb Shoulder Curry is back for another weekend. This is local lamb, slow-cooked until meltingly tender, finished over fire, and served with a rich lamb fat curry sauce. It’s back for a limited time …

NEW 🍑

We’ve been trialling this one for a few weeks, but we’ve swapped out our charred strawberries for more seasonal grilled peaches, which are served with whipped cream and pumpkin seed praline.

It’s a very good reason to leave room for pudding!

And finally …

PREVIEWING THIS WEEKEND:

BBQ Leeks with Green Pepper & Hazelnut Romesco, and Manchego Cheese. Keep an eye out for this one as we test it out this weekend, and just maybe you’ll see it on the menu properly from next week!

But apparently some of you are considerably more organised than we are, and we are getting a lot of messages about December bookings, so ….

Join us this winter for long tables, food from our soon-to-be announced seasonal autumn/winter menu from the fire, plenty to drink and a very cosy barn filled with your favourite people.

We’d love to have you here, whether it’s the work Christmas do, the annual friends get-together or simply an excuse to gather everyone around one table.
