How many sweetcorn fritters do we make every week? 🌽

It’s no secret that our sweetcorn fritters are one of the most-loved items on our menu, but how many do we get through in a typical week?

We asked our team, and some of the guesses were... optimistic (we’re looking at you Adam, mate!)

Join us later this week when we’ll tally up the numbers and crown our winner!

A little introduction to Pit for everyone who has joined us recently 👋

We’re Adam and George, two childhood friends who started Pit Kitchen in 2021.

🔥 George leads the kitchen team. With over 15 years’ experience, his journey has taken him from training at River Cottage to restaurants in Bristol, London and Melbourne, as well as developing menus for some of the UK’s leading hospitality brands. His food is all about bold flavours, season all ingredients and cooking over fire, taking inspiration from around the world with a British twist.

🍻 Adam is the friendly face who keeps Pit buzzing and everything working smoothly behind the scenes.
Whether it’s welcoming guests, or working with our brilliant local suppliers, he’s passionate about all creating the warm and relaxed atmosphere that Pit has become known and loved for.

For us, Pit is about so much more than just food. It’s about bringing people together around the table.

If you see us around, don’t be a stranger. Come and say hello 👋 🔥

The gateway Pit Kitchen dish.... 🌿

Our fresh chive tzatziki has fast become a favourite with our customers.

It is made in-house and packed with herbs from the summer garden. It’s light, fresh and dangerously moreish, and served with our very own homemade crisps.

They are perfect alongside a cold drink while you decide what else to order... though fair warning, you’ll probably be back for another handful before your mains arrive 😉

Have you ever wondered how a Pit Kitchen dish comes to life? 🔥

Every dish on our menu starts somewhere, and there are often many rounds of testing (and tasting!) for each dish before we add it to our menu.

Here’s a little behind the scenes look at a sausage dish we are currently experimenting with for later on in the year.

We’d love to know what you think.

Is this a dish that you would try?

What other dishes would you like us to experiment with?👇

The evolution of Pit Kitchen 👀

After another busy weekend, we’re just taking a moment to look back at how Pit has grown over the last five years.

Starting out as pop-up with three tables in a field, slowly and surely we’ve grown, and found our permanent home here at the barn here at The Old Piggery where we can now seat and serve up to 200 people.

It’s been quite the journey, and we love sharing our passion for cooking over fire and bringing people together with you every week.

Who remembers when we were just a pop-up in a field?
