A little sweetness, gathered at Whatley

John, our beekeeper, has been tending to the hives and carefully lifting the honey-filled frames, ready for this seasons harvest.

The bees have spent the warmer months moving quietly through the gardens, gathering the flowers. Now, that work becomes our very own Whatley honey.

We’re delighted to have donated flowers to Malmesbury in Bloom, helping to bring a little extra colour to our local town this summer.

EarthCheck Gold represents more than five years of shared commitment across every corner of Whatley Manor. From our gardens and kitchens to housekeeping, maintenance, spa, front of house and beyond, each thoughtful decision has helped us move towards a more responsible future.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate this achievement together as the first independent hotel in the UK to receive EarthCheck Gold, independently audited by Control Union.

This plaque belongs to every member of our team, past and present, who has played a part in caring for our people, our place and our future.

We are incredibly proud to share that Whatley Manor has achieved EarthCheck Gold, independently audited by Control Union – becoming the first Independent Hotel in the UK to receive this globally recognised sustainability accreditation.

For us, caring for our environment has always been quietly woven into everyday life at Whatley. From the way we nurture our gardens and protect biodiversity, to thoughtful sourcing, reducing waste and continuously finding better ways to tread more lightly – sustainability sits at the heart of how we welcome our guests.

Luxury should feel good in every sense, and we believe the most meaningful hospitality is rooted in care: for our people, our place and our future.
