Set within one of the oldest properties in Lacock, we offer high quality, locally produced food alongside traditional 'inn' accommodation for th

ose that stay - all with exceptional service. The 15th century inn and its 5 bedrooms have been sensitively updated to the standards of modern day living with beautiful interiors and a natural palette whilst restoring the essence and charm of the unique building, which boasts an exquisite panelled sitting room. We are not just providing a service to our guests, but a lifestyle, and we hope you will all feel at home in the inn which has celebrated generations of community spirit. The Angel is a public asset to our heritage and we believe that everyone should enjoy the building and its grounds so we aim to develop community aspects of the project in the longer term.

From leisurely lunches to afternoons in the garden, August is the perfect time to experience everything we have to offer at The Sign of the Angel.

1. Set Lunch
Join us Monday–Saturday, 12–3pm, for our seasonal set lunch menu. Enjoy 2 courses for £25 or 3 courses for £30. Thoughtfully prepared and perfect for a relaxed summer lunch. Pictured is Taylor serving our Isle of Wight tomatoes starter as well as our smoked Haddock fish cake.

2. The Garden
Make the most of the summer weather in our beautiful garden with a drink in hand. From 3–6pm, Monday–Friday, enjoy Angel Hour - the perfect excuse to linger a little longer.

3. Coffee & a quiet moment
We’re open from 10am every day, serving coffee made with beans from Wogan Coffee, a Bristol-based company. Whether you’re starting your day in Lacock or simply stopping by for a coffee and something sweet, we’ll have the table ready.

4. Stay somewhere with history
Our five historic bedrooms are full of character, with the building dating back to 1482. From original features to charming details, each room celebrates the history and individuality of this remarkable building.

5. Sunday Roast
Every Sunday from 12–7pm, join us for a traditional Sunday roast, with chicken, pork, beef and a seed roast for vegetarians. With limited tables available, we recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment.

We’re delighted to unveil our beautiful new dining chairs!

After many years of loyal service, it was time for our previous chairs to enjoy a well-earned retirement. As an independent restaurant, investments like this are carefully considered, and we wanted to find chairs that complemented the character and history of our beautiful building.

After months of searching, we found the perfect fit... only to discover they were out of stock! Seven months later, they’re finally here, and we couldn’t be happier with the result.
