💙🩷 OUR FIRST EVER QUIZ NIGHT IS HERE 💙🩷

Friday 6th November, 7pm.

We’re kicking off our first event at The Flying Monk with a proper quiz night, hosted by our very own Francesca, and we have a feeling this could be one of the hottest tickets in town.

Tickets are £10 per person and include a meal, plus a charitable donation.

Teams can be up to 6 people, so gather the clever one, the competitive one, the one who somehow knows every song intro, and the one who is mainly coming for dinner.

There’ll be prizes to be won, plenty of laughs, and hopefully only a small amount of arguing over the answer sheets.

As this is our first event, we’d love to see the place absolutely full.

A 6oz Walter Rose & Son butcher’s steak burger, tucked into a Hobbs House Bakery demi brioche bun, loaded with salad and sauce, topped with a b**r battered onion ring and served with our waffle fries and house slaw

Two brilliant local suppliers coming together in one VERY impressive burger

We’re still putting the final touches on it before it officially joins the menu, but we thought you deserved a little preview first!

Our pumpkin patch has arrived at The Flying Monk, and we're giving them away in exchange for a donation to Breast Cancer UK! 🩷

Whether you're planning some Halloween carving, decorating your doorstep or just getting into the autumn spirit, pop along and pick your perfect pumpkin!

🍂 No set price – just donate what you can

Donations can be made by scanning the QR code displayed with the pumpkins, or simply by giving cash at the bar

Every donation helps support a fantastic cause, and we'd love to see as many pumpkins as possible find new homes!

💙🩷 WE’VE GIVEN OUR SAUSAGES A PROMOTION 💙🩷

We’re not exactly short of a breakfast compliment or two at The Flying Monk, so naturally we decided to start tweaking it. Sensible 👀

But this one is definitely an upgrade.

We’ve switched our sausages over to The Saxon Sausage from award-winning Wiltshire butcher Walter Rose & Son. Proper butcher’s sausages from a local business that’s been doing things properly since 1847.

Because apparently all the “that breakfast was spot on” comments still weren’t quite enough for us.

It’s all part of what we want The Flying Monk to be about: great food, better ingredients and brilliant local suppliers wherever we can.

So yes, your Full Monk has had a little glow-up. Come and give the new sausages a go and let us know what you think.

💙🩷 FOUR WEEKS! A HUGE THANK YOU 💙🩷

It’s hard to believe it’s already been four weeks since we took over The Flying Monk, and we just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who has walked through our doors since day one.

The response has genuinely been incredible. From familiar faces continuing to support The Flying Monk, to so many new customers discovering us for the first time, the first month has been busier, more exciting and more successful than we could have hoped for.

Has everything been perfect? Absolutely not. We’ve had the odd hiccup, changed our minds more times than we’d like to admit, and learned very quickly that owning a café is basically a full-time exercise in solving problems you didn’t know existed.

But we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We’ve loved seeing the café full, hearing your feedback, getting to know our regulars and starting to put our own stamp on this very special place.

Supporting small, local businesses really does matter. Every coffee, lunch, drink and visit helps support an independent business, keeps money within the local community and helps us continue to employ and invest in local people.

There’s still plenty more to come — new food, new drinks, events, private hire and lots of ideas we’re excited to bring to life — but for now, we just wanted to say how grateful we are to have been welcomed so warmly 💙🩷

To everyone who has visited, recommended us, shared a post, brought friends, left a review or simply stopped by for a coffee…

Thank you. It really does mean a lot.

We’re incredibly proud to call The Flying Monk ours, and even prouder to be part of this community.
