The Crown Pub in Chinnor has recently been redecorated and is better than ever. You can enjoy a meal in our excellent restaurant or just a light bite from our great menu’s. Yesterday afternoon we had the pleasure of hosting a beautiful Afternoon Tea Party to celebrate Joan’s birthday. 🫖🧁🎉

From freshly made sandwiches and homemade sweet treats to plenty of tea (and a few glasses of fizz! 🥂), it was a lovely afternoon filled with laughter, great company and special memories.

🎉🎂 Happy Birthday to the one that keeps us all going… Jodie! ❤️

Jodie first started at The Crown at just 16 years old, washing up in the kitchen. Twenty five years later, she’s still in that kitchen… only now she’s the one keeping it all running!

While most people only see the food arriving at their table, they don’t see the early starts, the endless prep, the cleaning, the organising, and the long hours that go into making it all happen. She puts her heart and soul into everything she does.

She’s also the person our staff turn to when they need advice, a laugh, or a bit of support. A great friend to so many and someone who genuinely cares about everyone around her.

The Crown simply wouldn’t be what it is without everything she does behind the scenes.

Happy Birthday, Jodes! You deserve a fantastic day, a well earned holiday, and maybe… just maybe… a day where nobody asks you where something is! 😂❤️🥂

☀️ With the sunshine and heatwave returning this week, we’d just like to remind everyone to please use the ashtrays provided on the benches in our garden.

Our grass is virtually non existent and as dry as a desert at the moment. Leaving live cigarette ends on the ground is a real fire risk and could very easily set things alight.

Please take a few extra seconds to stub your cigarette out properly and use the ashtrays provided. Let’s all do our bit to keep everyone safe and protect our garden. Thank you! 🔥🚭🙏

But when it comes to boozing, banter and having a proper laugh, we were champions all day long! 🍻🍺

A huge thank you to Chinnor Cricket Club for another brilliant Colin Gain Tournament. It’s never really about the cricket anyway… it’s about making memories, taking the mickey out of your mates, and seeing a few hardy souls still celebrating long after the final ball had been bowled! 🍻😂

Same time next year? We might even score a few more runs…

Once again, we’ve found empty cans and bottles that have been brought into the pub and dumped in our garden bins. 🚮

Let’s make this absolutely clear…

YOU CANNOT BRING YOUR OWN DRINKS INTO THE CROWN.

We’re a pub. Our business relies on selling food and drink, and bringing your own onto our premises is completely unacceptable.

If you’re caught bringing your own alcohol or soft drinks into the pub, you will be asked to leave immediately.

We’re fed up with having to repeat ourselves. The vast majority of our customers respect the pub and support us properly. Unfortunately, a small minority continue to think the rules don’t apply to them.

Please show some respect for our business, our staff and everyone else who chooses to support their local. Enough is enough. 👊

Let’s be honest… none of us are troubling the England selectors! 🤣 This isn’t about cover drives or bowling actions, it’s about bringing the village together, having a laugh, making memories, and enjoying a few well earned beers along the way! 🍻

Our lunchtime regulars. 🍻

The familiar faces who pop in day after day for a pint, a bite to eat, a chat, and to put the world to rights. 😊 They’re a massive part of what makes this place special and, quite simply, we couldn’t do it without them.

Big events and busy nights are fantastic, but it’s the support of our locals, week in and week out, that keeps The Crown ticking over all year round. ❤️
