Gel Allchurch and the guys at The Shop, would like to put out a heartfelt tribute to Mr Bernard Tipping, who recently passed away 😢

We are remembering Bernard Tipping, who together with his wife Joan wanted their shop used for the benefit of the Selsey community. You may remember their gentlemen’s outfitters shop in years gone by, from which countless Selsey school children were clothed! For ten years as our landlord, he and his wife Joan have been generous, kind, always interested in people, and willing to give to us during the lockdown, ensuring we were able to carry on with the SHOP and coffee house after the pandemic.
In addition to our shop and in conjunction with the Care Shop, the premises has been used as a meeting place for a variety of groups to serve and bless the community in the afternoons. We are all so grateful for his friendship and generosity, and thank his family for giving us a rent holiday in his memory. Without Bernard and Joan’s kind, philanthropic hearts the SHOP might never have come into existence. The funeral is on Tuesday June 27th at mid-day.
