9am Wed - the workers have scrubbed the animal fat and offal down to the base layer on the sheep island at A518. YES it’s still CLOSED.

Apparently waiting on the council to sign off if it’s clean enough.

Fun watching all the people on our school walk ignore the multiple signs, all in plain English, turning around at the last minute.

Hopefully we’ll be back to normal soon.

🍕 WE’RE HIRING 🍻

We’re looking for part-time staff to join the team at The Wheatsheaf, Chetwynd Aston (just outside Newport).

We do wood-fired pizzas every Wednesday, Friday & Saturday, so we need someone cheerful, friendly and happy working in a busy pub atmosphere.

Personality matters more than experience — we can teach basic bar skills, but we can’t teach being a good people person 😊

✅ 18+ only (as the role involves serving alcohol)

Some weekends a must and it’s an all year position as we already have some students.

Hallelujah! it looks like we’re getting an early release of our Summer sunshine rations this weekend ☀️

As people will be busting out their Benidorm holiday gear, please look out and be aware of dodgy clothing choices as seen here by Saint Kilmister of Burlslem 😁

will be firing up our pizza oven as usual on Friday and Saturday.

We’ll also fire up our BBQ grill and flat top on bank holiday Monday. Give us a shout if you want a burger saving for you. Pub opens at 2pm - food from 4pm
