📚 Book Lovers Quiz Night at Board & Bean!

Silent Book Club Chesterfield are taking over the annex for a special Book Lovers Quiz Night — an evening of literary trivia, themed cocktails and absolutely no requirement to have memorised the entire works of Shakespeare.

Come as a team of up to four, or come along on your own and we can help get you teamed up on the night.

Sooner or later, most of us need a fresh start. Some more than others.

Ayohusdi might just be yours.

A remote mining planet out in the Far Reach of the Frontier, Ayohusdi sits beneath the crimson skies of a red supergiant star. It’s hot, humid, riddled with deadly viruses and novel diseases… but it’s also somewhere you can disappear.

A place beyond the watchful eyes of prying governments. A place where nobody asks too many questions about where you came from — as long as you’re willing to share the burden.

🔨 Another progress update from the new Board & Bean!

Things are starting to look a little less like pure destruction and a little more like an actual build now…

This week we’ve:

🧱 Started building out some of the new rooms
🎲 Prepared more parts for the new game library cabinets
🛠️ Been tackling plenty of patching and repairs
🪑 Got the first set of benches ready for upholstering
🏗️ Finished the base coats and repairs on the outside walls, almost ready for rendering

There’s still a long way to go, but more and more of the new space is starting to take shape.

🚧 CAN YOU SEE IT NOW!? 🚧

Apparently the Heras fencing around the new premises wasn’t quite obvious enough…

So, in the interests of public safety, there are now lights....

Lots of lights.

To the fencing.

In the already well-lit area.

We can only assume someone somehow managed to walk into it before concluding it was the fence's fault, so hopefully this does the trick 😅

🔨 Progress update from the new Board & Bean!

We’re still very much in the making a mess before making it better phase.

Some things are still being ripped out, preparations are underway for the new builds, the first of our new benches and booths are starting to take shape… and Clint has apparently decided the building still doesn’t have enough holes in it.

It’s messy, dusty and nowhere near finished yet, but the new layout is beginning to emerge.

For anyone who hasn’t spotted where we’re moving to, we’re taking over the former Soulville Steakhouse premise - lovingly remembered as The Green Room - at 21 South Street, Chesterfield.

Plenty more progress, destruction and questionable decisions to come.

🩸 Blood on the Clocktower returns this Friday!

A demon is hiding among the villagers, everyone has something to hide, and trusting the wrong person could prove fatal.

Join us for another evening of bluffing, deduction, accusations and dramatic reveals. New players are very welcome, and everything will be explained before the game begins.
