Following recent reports in the Derbyshire Times regarding an incident at the pub, we would like to reassure our customers and the local community that this was an isolated incident and was dealt with immediately as soon as it was reported to us.

We want to make it absolutely clear that we do not tolerate this type of behaviour at our pub. The safety and wellbeing of our customers and staff is extremely important to us.

We are a family-run pub and have always worked hard to be a positive part of our local community. Over the past year alone, we have raised a significant amount of money for various charities and supported a number of local causes.

We are proud of what we do for our community, and while negative stories can understandably attract attention, we hope people will also remember the many positive things our pub and our customers do throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us. ❤️

Well guys, I’m absolutely gutted to be announcing this (and I’m not crying, I promise! 😭), but Friday 9th October will be Jodie’s last day at the Britannia.

I wanted to invite you all down for some drinks with Jodie — not to say goodbye, as we’re hoping we’ll still see her on the other side of the bar — but to wish her the best of luck in her next chapter and all her new beginnings. ❤️

As many of you know, I started at the Brit having never even pulled a pint, never mind worked behind a bar! And don’t even get me started on what I knew about the cellar 😂. This girl taught me everything she knew, showed me the ropes and has helped make the pub what it is today — a friendly local where people feel comfortable coming in, even if they’re on their own. That means more to me than she’ll ever know.

On a personal note, although I’m so happy and excited for her as she starts this new chapter, this girl has also been there for me through some really tough times, as well as celebrating all the good times with me.

We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve probably had a few too many drinks 😂, and I’m genuinely going to miss her more than words can say.

So let’s make sure we give her the send-off she deserves! 🥂❤️

I really hope to see you all there to raise a glass to Jodie and wish her all the best for whatever comes next. Here’s to new beginnings! 🥂✨
