Well who saw that coming?........
Our very own butcher Mark has a place at the London Marathon 2027.
After completing the marathon My Way last year walking 26 miles around Rother Valley for Ashgate Hospice he's only gone and got a place at the main event next year along with his wife Helen.
He's said "2 years ago this is something I never saw myself doing, those who know me know I was never the most active person so this is a big deal for me and an opportunity not only to get out of my comfort zone and prove to myself I can do it but also more importantly for me, to give something back. Choosing a charity was always going to be as hard as the marathon itself with so many amazing charities, each one as worthy as the next but we've been lucky enough to be given a place by SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen Families Association), the oldest tri-military charity in the UK, and as children of veterans, this is something close to both our hearts. This charity offers amazing lifelong physical, emotional, and financial support to active service personnel, veterans, and their families.
Between my wife and I we want to raise as much money as we can. We have fund raising events planned in the near future and a couple of jars left on the counters at Watson and Brown. We also have a fund raising page set up using this link

We'd be so grateful for even a few pence from anyone who can help.
Thank you ♥️
