Being an ice cream van driver is one of the most up and down jobs I have experienced. To start with things are great in the summer and awful in the winter but that is part of the job. But now each season is a total up and down, one year I feel like ice cream vans are on the rise, the next year I see our friends in the industry are closing down which makes us sad. Eight years ago we made the difficult decision to increase our prices from £2 to £2.50 for a single cone with a flake. When Covid hit and everything went nuts we had to increased our prices to £3. We sat down again this year to discuss any price increases and .after long discussions we decided to keep our prices the same. Obviously we need to make a living, we have families to feed as do our staff. All we are asking is that you look out for your local business, be it the ice cream man or your butcher or your bakery, we are all going through the same thing right now and really need your help. We don't want to be raising our prices again in 2027.
