Vision 21 had a wonderful day with Cheltenham Action for Nature 🦋 at The Greenhouse Cheltenham & Schoolhouse Cafe for our first ever Gardens for Nature festival. Our bird box building, plant ID walk and the wildlife gardening 🪴 talks we hosted were a great success and the CAN team did an amazing job of organising the day across both venues. 🐝

We're delighted to be hosting a fantastic programme of free talks and walks celebrating wildlife-friendly gardening and nature recovery.

Almost all of the ticketed talks are now fully booked, with just a handful of places remaining for our 10am talk, Working With Your Garden's Natural Ecology, with ecologist Charlotte O'Neill.

We'll also be hosting Nature in St Paul's: Tell us your Ideas – an informal drop-in conversation with local ward councillors Tabi Joy and Ashleigh Davies between 11.30am and 12.30pm. If you live or work in St Paul's, we'd love to hear your ideas for helping nature thrive in the neighbourhood.

Whether you're coming for a talk or simply to soak up the atmosphere, we'd love to welcome you.

Looking for simple ways to keep your home cooler in hot weather? ☀️ Read our HEAT HACK >>>

Solar film can be fitted to windows, or temporary shading fitted OUTSIDE (such as radiator heat reflector or even cardboard attached with window suckers) and can be a low-cost and surprisingly effective option.

⚠️ A word of caution: avoid placing reflective foil or cardboard inside double-glazed windows, as trapped heat can damage or even crack the glass. And if your windows face neighbouring properties, be mindful that reflective materials can create unwanted glare.

We had a great discussion about solar PV, air conditioning, and practical ways to adapt our homes to rising temperatures and make the most of the free sunshine at our recent screening of Power Station. Thanks to everyone who joined the conversation!
