Just a little post to address some of the comments we’ve received. ❤️
We had to make the difficult decision about whether to open in the early hours for the football. It wasn’t a decision we took lightly, and we carefully weighed up all the factors before deciding what we felt was best.
We completely understand that not everyone will agree with our decision, and we respect that. As a family-run pub in a small village, we have to make choices that are right for both our business and our community. Before deciding, we asked around, and the majority of people told us they would probably be watching from home because they had work the next day.
Opening our doors in the middle of the night for what was likely to be just a handful of people simply wasn’t a practical option. We also wanted to be mindful of our wonderful neighbours and felt this was the most considerate decision.
Please don’t think this means we care any less or aren’t supporting England—we absolutely are! We’ll be showing all the other England games and can’t wait to cheer them on with you all.
