The Angel

The Angel The Angel dates back to the 15th century which became an inn around 1702. It oozes rustic charm with its wooden beams and at times low ceilings (be careful).

Our menus feature hearty dishes and pub classics which complements our well-stocked bar! Nestled in the heart of the countryside, The Angel in Broomfield is a charming 15th-century country pub that offers a warm and inviting dining experience. With a rich history, the old hall house became an inn around 1702, and this historic inn has since been a beloved gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Step inside and be transported to a bygone era, where you can imagine the jubilant celebrations that took place here in 1898, toasting the Queen on her Jubilee Day. The menu at The Angel is a delightful blend of hearty favourites, country pub classics, and seasonal dishes. Whether you're craving a comforting Sunday roast or a fresh and vibrant salad, there's something to satisfy every palate. And with a well-stocked bar offering a selection of cask ales, fine wines and British gin, you can relax and unwind in the picturesque gardens or cosy up by the crackling log fires. Join us at The Angel near Chelmsford for a memorable dining experience that combines history, charm, and delicious food. We can't wait to welcome you!
