We’ve recently been experiencing a high number of no-shows and last-minute changes to reservations at Pizza La Pietra.

Yesterday was unfortunately a record for us, with three tables (a total of 15 guests) not turning up. During June alone, we recorded 56 guests who made reservations but didn’t attend, including several local customers.

We also often see bookings made for larger groups (6–8 people), where only 2 guests arrive. While we truly appreciate those who let us know if they can’t make it — even at short notice — many reservations are simply unattended without any notice at all.

As a small restaurant, this has a significant impact on us. In many cases, we turn away other customers because we believe tables are reserved, only to end the evening with empty tables that could have been filled.

We completely understand that visitors to Alton Towers may have unpredictable schedules, but it’s particularly disappointing when reservations are not honoured without any notice.

If this continues, we will unfortunately need to review our reservation policy. This may include introducing paid reservations or removing the reservation system altogether.
