Here we go… we are super excited to be holding this annual event in the memory of Ryan, I had a personal connection with him through our love of bikes …. It’s not often you know before you have opened you are going to have an epic time.
This event every year fills not just myself but the team with love.
I hope you are watching from above my friend.

Hi guys and girls,
Just a little reminder that we are hosting Ryanfest this weekend at the HOOD…..
Every year since his passing we try to celebrate his life with his family, amazing friends and others by holding a fantastic event organised by his mum.
We have some amazing entertainment lined up for everyone to enjoy and what with the amazing weather this weekend, I recon it’s going to be the best so far.
Wrist bands are still available at the pub in advance, via the QR code or if you’re a last minute type of person I’m sure there will be some available on the day.
This is definitely one not to be mist and we all need to remember all proceeds will be going to the air ambulance, a charity that is close to the families heart and one you never know you might need.

Many people ask me why haven’t you got more things for the kids, well maybe this is one of the reasons…. A month or so ago the tyre obstacle I had down the garden was broken not by children as nothing was said and when I looked at the security cameras it was adults jumping around on it.
The covered area down by the stage I took down because kids kept smashing the plastic roof with stones and sticks and at £35 a panel I decided to remove it just like I did with the Avery because even though I asked the children in front of the parents not to poke sticks through it as it stresses the birds out , in the morning all the birds had escaped because the children at the time had made a hole in the chicken wire.
And last night 3 teenagers were throwing the swing around and all jumping all over it which has now put the swing out of action.
Listen kids will be kids, but parenting seems to have gone out the window.
All I ask for is a little respect.
I’m trying my hardest to keep this place special for everyone to enjoy.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone that came to my 15th anniversary 80s bash yesterday.
What an amazing turnout with lots of old faces and new ones.
Piggies disco, you done us proud and to my staff , you are all legends and you all mean the world to me.
Over the years I’ve learned that as a business you are only as good as the people that represent you and as always you never let me down.
If anyone has got any photos please feel free to tag them in as I totally forgot to take any.

Wow 😮
15 years today I arrived at this place with my family not knowing what on earth I was getting myself into , 22 years I had spent in haulage doing everything I had learned from a boy.
I had a meeting with all the staff at the time and introduced myself as the new landlord and said to them from this moment I’m here to learn and I will follow your lead.
I washed up , collected glasses, stocked up and basically done what I was told for almost 3 months ( I learned every aspect of this business from the bottom up)
And then after watching and learning I called a meeting and said thank you for teaching me but this is what I feel needs to change.
From there we pushed forward, definitely not as quickly as it should have, but little steps.
After several years lockdown come and OMG I thought it was the end, but my staff and I got together because for the first time we had time to breathe and work out what was best for us to do as a company.
For many lockdown was the end but for us it was the turning point, we brainstormed , we planned and when we existed lockdown we thrived.
Every year we push and push to make this place just a little bit better than we was last year.
My thanks goes out to all our customers, but the biggest thank you is too my long time staff and my new ones for number 1 putting up with me in my darkest times and having the same dream as me.
We are one big family and I hope it shows in everything we do.

So so happy with today’s creative work, if you said to me 5 years ago I would be spending my day off planting flowers I would have laughed at you….
But there’s something so rewarding about creating something that will transform an area for everyone to enjoy for years to come😊….
