Proposed Funeral Arrangements for Our Fellow Rascal, Phil McMeekan

It is with great sadness that the Silent Rascals Motorcycle Enthusiast Ride Out Club shares the proposed arrangements for the funeral of our fellow member, friend and fellow rider, Phil McMeekan.
Phil was one of our Rascals, and we want to come together as a club and as a wider biking community to pay our respects and support his family as we accompany him on his final journey.
We will meet at the car park in Carrickfergus at 10:15am on Thursday morning, with stands up at 10:45am sharp.
As always, remember the Rascals’ motto:
“Empty bladders and full tanks.”
We have notified and applied to the PSNI and requested their assistance to allow us, if permitted, to safely stop on our route to Newtownards at the scene of Phil’s tragic accident.
At the scene, we intend to lay a wreath and observe a one-minute silence in memory of our fellow Rascal and as a mark of love and respect for Phil and his family.
From there, we will proceed together to Newtownards for Phil’s funeral service. Following the service, we will have the privilege of escorting Phil’s remains on his final journey to Roselawn Cemetery.
On behalf of Phil’s family and the Silent Rascals, we would like to extend an invitation to all our fellow Rascals, members of other motorcycle clubs, and any individual riders who wish to join us in paying their respects to Phil and showing their support for his family.
We ask everyone joining the ride to do so with the dignity and respect that the occasion deserves, to ride safely and responsibly, and to follow any instructions from the PSNI, funeral representatives and club marshals.
Thursday will undoubtedly be a very difficult and emotional day for Phil’s family, friends and his fellow Rascals. We hope the biking community can come together as one to give our fellow Rascal, Phil, the final ride and farewell he deserves.
Once a Rascal, always a Rascal.
