A Ghostbusters-themed 40th birthday cake with plenty of slime, marshmallow men, ghosts and a rather iconic Ecto-1! 👻💚
I absolutely loved bringing this one to life — from the hand-modelled Slimer and Marshmallow Man sitting on top, to all those little Ghostbusters details around the cake. And of course, no birthday cake is complete without something to take away and enjoy too… so this one came with a matching set of Ghostbusters cakesicles. 🍫👻

Another from the Archives
My very first attempt at a sculpted bust cake, created for my son’s birthday and inspired by The BFG.

Is it perfect? Absolutely not.
Would I change things now? Definitely.
Would I remake it? Probably not… because this one is part of my cake-making journey. 🥰
But you know what? I still love this one. ❤️

Looking back now, I can see plenty of things I’d do differently. I’ve made a few more sculpted bust cakes since this one — although those have been created purely for competition purposes — and my techniques have definitely evolved along the way.

And sometimes it's nice to look back at where you started and realise just how far you've come. ✨

Happy International Cat Day to all the cat lovers! ❤️🐈

🐾 A purr-fect excuse to bring this one out of the archives… 🐾

It’s International Cat Day, so I couldn’t resist sharing this little feline-inspired beauty! 🐱🎂

Made a few years ago, this was one of those cakes where the little details really made it — from the individual hand-crafted sugar cats, each with their own colouring and character, to the tiny paw prints and delicate details around the cake. 🐾

And just look at those faces! 😻

I do love looking back at older cakes and remembering the time, patience and creativity that goes into bringing an idea to life in sugar.

Loved creating this custom number '2' cake for little Noah-James! From the sugar web details to the mini city skyline and matching Cakesicles, this custom cake was such a blast to pull together.

Some wedding cakes never lose their magic... 🤍✨

This one takes me back a few years to a beautiful teepee wedding, where every detail embraced the relaxed, romantic atmosphere of the day.

It was the perfect setting for the couple's choice of wedding cake—a design inspired by nature, with delicate organic edible flower petals flowing through each tier and a softly illuminated acrylic tier that echoed the warm glow of the teepee beautifully.

One of my favourite features is that clear acrylic tier. Filled with tiny twinkling lights, it added a magical glow as the evening drew in, creating height, elegance and a real focal point without adding extra cake.

Acrylic tiers are a wonderful option for couples who dream of the impact of a tall four or five-tier wedding cake but don't actually need that much cake to serve their guests. They allow you to achieve that grand, elegant look while keeping portions sensible, and they can be styled in so many different ways—from fairy lights like these, to fresh or dried flowers, foliage, LED candles, crystals or even personalised details to create something completely unique.

Sadly, the lighting inside the teepee wasn't ideal for photography (beautiful for the atmosphere, not so much for cameras!), but I still love looking back at this one and remembering just how perfectly it suited its surroundings. ✨

Soft blues, crisp whites and delicate touches of fresh green come together to create a cake that feels effortlessly summery.

The gentle hand-painted backdrop of wild grasses gives the design a light, airy feel, while clusters of delicate blue blossoms and elegant white sugar flowers bring the whole piece to life.
Every petal, leaf and brushstroke was carefully crafted by hand, creating a design that's both timeless and quietly beautiful.
