Today is completion day, as we hand over the keys and say goodbye after an incredible 28 years! we’re feeling everything all at once—pride in what we’ve built, gratitude for the life it’s given us, and a sadness that this part of our journey is coming to an end.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being with us throughout the years. Your loyalty, kindness, and support have meant more than you’ll ever know. We’ve truly loved serving you all your favourite chippy tea!

On a personal note, working side by side with my mum has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Together we built more than just a fish and chip shop — we built memories, friendship, resilience, and a lifetime of stories. Through recessions, a pandemic, long days and busy nights, we always faced everything together and somehow managed to keep laughing along the way.

I’m incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved together, and even prouder of the dedication and hard work my mum has given to make the shop what it is today. While I’m so happy she’s finally getting the retirement she truly deserves, it’s going to feel very strange not seeing her every day and sharing those little moments that became such a big part of life.

Thank you for being the best business partner, teacher, and mum I could ever ask for.

This may be the end of a chapter, but the memories we’ve made will last forever💛

Just 2 Days Left! 💙

After so many wonderful years serving the Carnforth community, we’re down to our final two days of trading.

As we’re now using up our remaining stock, some menu items may sell out throughout the day. We’ll be cooking everything fresh as always, but once it’s gone, it’s gone.

If there’s something you’ve been craving one last time, we’d recommend popping in early!

Thank you for all the incredible support, kind words and memories over the years. We’d love to see as many of you as possible before we close our doors for the final time. ❤️

IMPORTANT NOTICE…PLEASE SHARE.

I can’t believe I’m writing this, but…

The time has come for us to say goodbye and for Liz to finally enjoy her well-earned retirement!

As many of you know, we made the decision to put our beloved shop back up for sale last year. With Liz ready to retire and Sally facing ongoing mobility problems, the time feels right to welcome new owners.

North Road Chippy has been part of the Carnforth community for around 90 years, and it has been an absolute privilege to play a part in its history — and to become its longest-standing owners.

What an incredible 28 years it has been! We simply cannot thank you enough for your loyalty, support and custom over the years. Getting to know so many of you has been one of the greatest pleasures of running the shop.

When we moved to Carnforth in 1998, we arrived as strangers, but we leave feeling as though we have gained many friends along the way.

To every member of staff who has worked with us throughout these 28 years — THANK YOU! We truly couldn’t have done it without you.

As sad as we are that our time has come to an end, we sincerely hope you will welcome and support the new owners in the same way you have supported us over the years.

This week will be our last week.

Thank you for being such a special part of our lives and our journey.

We won’t be opening at lunchtime today as we simply do not want to work in the hot environment of the shop all day long.
