🏆 WE DID IT!

We are absolutely thrilled to share that last night we were named Carmarthenshire Retail Business of the Year! 🏆

We’re honestly blown away.

As a sixth-generation family business, this award means so much to us. Since opening our new shop earlier this year, we’ve worked incredibly hard to create something we’re proud of, and to have that recognised is really special.

A massive thank you goes to our amazing team, who put their hearts into the business every single day, and to all of our wonderful customers. Every visit, every recommendation and every kind word has helped us get to this point. This award belongs to all of you as much as it does to us.

🎉 We’re delighted to announce that Albert Rees Ltd / Carmarthen Deli has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Retail Business of the Year category at the Carmarthenshire Business Awards 2026

As a sixth-generation family business serving Carmarthenshire for over 170 years, we’re incredibly proud to be recognised alongside some fantastic local businesses.

The last year has seen us open our new shop in Cambrian Way, continue the growth of Carmarthen Ham PGI – the UK’s only PGI protected air-dried ham – and expand our range of Welsh food and drink from local producers.

This recognition belongs to our brilliant team, loyal customers, local suppliers and everyone who has supported us throughout our journey.

We’re looking forward to meeting the judges tomorrow.

🎉 Our First Grazing Board Event 🎉

Last weekend we had the pleasure of creating our very first Grazing Board setup for little Aria’s christening 💕

Five handcrafted grazing boards, featuring a selection of Welsh cheeses, Carmarthen Ham PGI, cooked meats, crackers, chutneys, olives, pickled onions and fresh fruit, accompanied by Crwst sourdough and Welsh butter.

A huge thank you to Elaine and her family for trusting us with such a special occasion and for allowing us to share these photos.

We’re delighted with how the boards looked and, more importantly, we’re told they went down very well with the guests! 😊

Today was a completely different sort of day for us 👍

People think Sundays are a day off when you run a food business… not a chance 😂

Today we were up at the Hay Festival talking about the Slow Food Cymru Wales movement and why protecting traditional food and local producers really matters.

Really nice to share the stage with some brilliant Welsh producers:

We spoke about food heritage, traditional methods, provenance and why small independent producers still matter in a world that’s becoming more and more industrialised.

Proud that Carmarthen Ham PGI is part of the Slow Food Ark of Tastealongside some amazing food products from around the world 🌍🐖

We’d like to say a huge thank you to the Culinary Association of Wales - Cymdeithas Coginiol Cymru and Food & Drink Wales for inviting us to showcase Carmarthen Ham at the at ICC Wales at the Celtic Manor Resort this week 🌍🥩

The Worldchefs Congress is one of the biggest and most prestigious chef events in the world, bringing together chefs, buyers and food professionals from over 110 countries — and this is the first time in its 98-year history that it has ever been held in the UK 🇬🇧

It was an amazing experience introducing Carmarthen Ham to chefs and culinary teams from 🇦🇺 Australia, 🇦🇹 Austria, 🇫🇯 Fiji, 🇮🇪 Ireland, 🇮🇹 Italy, 🇵🇪 Peru, 🇿🇦 South Africa, 🇪🇸 Spain, 🇱🇰 Sri Lanka, 🇨🇭 Switzerland, 🇦🇪 UAE, 🇺🇸 USA — and of course not forgetting 🏴 Wales and the rest of the 🇬🇧 UK — all with their own stories, traditions and experiences of curing hams and meats to share, and all showing so much love for Carmarthen Ham ❤️
